Curious if there is anyone in the Tundra community with visibility to 2025 planned release features, and if there will ever be another bench seat? (I think the 2024 features are already out and no font bench.). It was one of our favorite features of previous gen Tundras.

If it ever happens I bet it'd be an SR only thing. But then they'd have to do a column shift version. Doubtful they'd want to be bothered with that expense if there's only a handful of takers.

I didn't like how if you got the front bench seat in the previous gen, you would lose out on the 38 gallon tank.

Nope. Bench seats are going away just like manual transmissions did. Today's families are smaller and people want storage. They are just selling what the market (and regulation) is demanding.

I wouldn't say that the average family is smaller. More and more vehicles keep adding a 3rd row of seats. It probably more due to the safety aspect of not having an airbag in front of the person in the center and most only had a waist belt not an across the chest as well.

Average family size has shrunk, but you do raise good points that are likely contributing factors equal to or greater than the family size. Good thoughts!

But bench seats are so romantic, nothing like having your beloved right next to you while you reach over to soother her. You’d even receive some road head without that console being in they way.

bench seats are a royal pita to certify in crash testing for front occupants. that is the true reason toyota doesnt offer bench seats in front.
