So I have a 2005 tundra 2wd double cab. And my friend is giving me free running boards from his 2023 Tacoma pro. But I am not sure if they will fit my tundra. I mean they are free and new. So does anyone know of they might fit or have done something similar to this. ?

Get them and see if you can line up the holes. If they don't line up I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to make a simple bolt-on adapter?

Anything will fit with some drilling. Chances are the holes on the OEM brackets won't line up, though.

I saw running boards from a DC with brackets and hardware on FB Marketplace yesterday (in Salsa red, but ...) for $100.

Taco running boards bolt to the body, not the frame.

Worth mentioning, so do OEM 1st gen Tundra brackets. Here's a good picture of the ones up for sale near @FirstGenVol , shows pretty clearly how they bolt up just under the cab.

I ended up with two extra sets of black Nerf boards for my 2006 double cab

but you'd probably need to be local to Central Alabama

I really don't care about making any money off of them from anyone here on the forum just need them gone. Otherwise, I'll end up putting them on Facebook marketplace

Hey Weagle - I just stumbled across this forum and post looking for bars for a 2005 limited DC I just bought.

Wondering if you still have them?

I've got a buddy that lives in Huntsville could possibly workout someone picking them up locally. Curious if you have the bars still and if they're in good shape?

    Thanks in advance!

yes I do. I actually have two extra pairs of them. One set was missing a bolt or two but you could probably find those at tractor supply without an issue. Each set, has one small ding in it no more than an inch long

I would be glad to meet somewhere. I'm about 2 hours and 45 minutes from Huntsville. Unfortunately I'm about to have eye surgery tomorrow and will be having to lay face down for 4 to 8 weeks so I'll be totally out of commission lol

here is a picture of them on my truck

Dude sorry to hear about the eye surgery...hopefully everything goes smoothly and recovery isn't too bad! 4 to 8 weeks recovery sounds a little rough so hopefully it goes well.

I'm in no rush for the bars as I don't need them, but the wife and kids do (she requested a step lol). I just picked up the truck a week ago, it has 190k miles and she needs some TLC on the rear drums and a couple oil leaks to take care of (VC Gaskets and Oil Filter Housing/Cooler gaskets) before she can be a daily driver.

Ok if I plan to follow up with you early November and see if you're up to sell/hand them off then?

    Thanks!

absolutely man. I would love for someone to make use of them. I was shocked when the company said just keep them and quickly quickly sent out another pair twice.
Here's a picture of the dent on one of them. I put my finger beside it to show how small it is. Each set had one dent like that on the driver side

That dent is barely noticeable and something you could get with one trip out to the hunting stand! I'm a big fan of the textured spray on bedliner paint that would make that almost disappear.

At the right price I don't think I see a dent lol

Will work out something good. They were free to me

Once I can move around and get my truck running again, which should take about a day, I'll be more than happy to take a road trip and enjoy my headers and full racing exhaust from DirtyDeeds I'm retired anyway so I've got plenty of time.
