I inserted my USB stick that's loaded up with my music into the USB port, but it doesn't seem to recognize that it's there. Wondering if I need to format my USB stick differently. Maybe it just doesn't like my choice of music :notsure:...

Has anyone gotten this to work?

I vaguely remember there being a limit to the size of the drive that could be used.

It's weird but it will only recognize certain USB drives.

Very interesting and strange at the same time! I'm kinda geeky when it comes to this kind of thing. I will do some testing and report back with what I find.

Usually the size doesn't matter to a point. The radio will read certain brands and not others. External hard drives are the same way. The manual might mention a certain format.

I've had zero problems. Use thumb drives all the time. Put your music files in folders on your thumb drive.

Format with FAT32 and likely supports a drive up to 32 GB.

Good idea. If your drive is 64 GB, sometimes you can trick the system by formatting it with a 32GB partition. Size shouldn't matter but they use a lot of janky embedded OS's that have hard coded values in their kernels. They definitely don't pay royalties to use NTFS, which is also really resource intensive in comparison to FAT32. God speed!

Mine takes about 15 minutes after the initial plug in of the usb. Each time I turn the truck on after it take about a minute to load the 25k songs I have on the usb.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's probably indexing all of those files into its directory. I had that same issue in another vehicle. I'm probably not going to put as many songs on the stick this time for that exact reason. My son pretty much DJs from his Spotify most of the time anyway when he's in the truck with me. I name a song and he plays it. Gotta love it. But, for those times when I'm rolling by myself, it's nice to be able to just click through my old-school selection of jams!
