Just bought my first Tundra (2014 CrewMax Limited).
I love this truck but one problem (and I thought this would be pretty simple to fix) is that the windshield washer pump doesn’t work. Wipers, intermittent etc work fine, just no fluid.
Checked the fuse but it was good.
Put a voltmeter on the plug at the pump and do not show any voltage when the switch is activated. Bought a new switch figuring that had to be the culprit, but still no voltage.
I also checked on a buddies similar Tundra and he does have 12VDC at the plug for the pump when the switch is activated.
    Any ideas?
Do I need to bite the bullet and take this in?

    Is there a blockage?

I checked that too early on, no the fluid line is clear.
Also pretty sure a blockage wouldn’t prevent voltage at the plug.

Pull the tank and the pump then clean the impeller would be my next step.

Well….. I like Rain-X !! So now I need to figure out the sensor issue/location and swap it out.

Pretty old thread, sensors might have changed. Plus the older version might not have ever been affected. OP didn't have voltage to the pump.

I saw that but, I see it could be a couple of different things. I’m out of town and will check it out when I return home. My reservoir is full and the fuse is good, so the easiest things have been ruled out.

I don’t hear it but, I don’t know if it was loud enough to hear in the first place. I’m solo on the road so to test it I would pull the fuse that operates the wipers so they’re not squeaking back and forth, then duct tape the washer lever on and go investigate.
I will probably just wait until I’m back home next week and look it over then. I will chime back in with my findings so it can benefit others.

Update, a mouse or rat has found its way into the cowl area and chewed through the washer hose.
We live in a rural area and have had issues with them in our engine bays before. We poisoned the heck out of them. It’s been at least a year. So apparently a new generation of them are moving in. Time to put the poison out again.

Research here and you can learn why you should screen the openings. Also how to. If they are inside there, then they are not far from getting inside the hvac and may have already. A member here nearly died from a parasite infection due to mice inside his truck. I suggest serious research and check out your cabin filter immediately. Good luck. I keep pine sol soaked rags and bars of pink Dove soap in the engine compartment. Plus screened the cowl with hardware cloth (1/4" wire grid).

Thanks for the heads up! I had noticed a peculiar smell in my truck the other day and when I saw the little foot prints all over the engine cover…..a few cuss words flew out and I went straight to my cabin air filter knowing why I was getting a weird smell. Luckily I’m catching it at the beginning stages. Another week or so and it would be really bad. The week before I went out of town (with the truck) I started parking in a different spot, apparently it’s more accessible for them. So I think it started then, and then they picked up where they left off upon my return. I will be looking into screening off the areas where they get into the cowl for sure. Thanks again!
