I bought a Rain-X 26" winter wiper blade for my Tundra and none of the attachments worked. I did some searching online and apparently Toyota and GM used some weird rare mounting system for a couple of years.

I went to my local Napa store, and he said that he was aware of the Toyota and GM anomaly and all that is available now is their base model wipers. I bought a set and it was $40! I live in snow country, and wipers getting clogged with snow and ice is a real concern and can cause you to be stuck on the side of the road due to no visibility. I always buy a new set of wipers this time of year specifically designed for snow and ice conditions. Now I can't.

I believe the parts guy mentioned something about a "PP" mount style?

I absolutely have to have high-quality winter blades for my Tundra. Can I replace the OEM wiper arms with something from an earlier year? Or maybe aftermarket that supports standard wiper blade mounts?

Try OEM blade refills rather than the whole wiper

Ask your dealership for the OEM factory replacements (not sightlines). Best blades made for our trucks.
Pricey (maybe $60 for the pair) but you won’t be replacing them every season like with aftermarket’s. I get a couple of years out of mine. But I clean/scrape and preheat the windshield so I’m not dragging them across ice for 20 minutes while I’m waiting for the truck to warm up.

Can't put inserts into the Tundra blades unfortunately . I hate the sightline blades. I just swapped mine for the first time and had to get blades. Went with OEM. My parts guy said the part number it calls for is backordered but i did some searching here and found the part numbers we need. Here you go.

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
35.00 per blade at Amzn with the warning that neither fit the ‘21. I realize that warning is wrong from time to time, just worth noting, plus returns are simple anyway. Input them both in the cart fir a later date but will check the price with my local dealer first.

Rain X wipers work, you just have to remove one of the clips to get it to match up. There was a YouTube video I followed, but easy once you know what to look for.

    Too many, but not enough....
Order the OEM ones from toyota parts. They are still having a sale now I beleive, I found that toyota of Decatur has the best prices consistently. They are the same if not less priced than other stores. I bought 3 sets. I am still using my factory ones on my 21, they last forever. Unfortunately, there are no inserts for these.

I have a 2020 and just put new Rain X on. I did try the truck series this time but no issues. Followed the directions having to remove a clip or to and snapped right on.

Does anyone know what year that Tundra had these odd wiper mounts? Is it just the 2021's?

They are not odd wiper mounts, pretty common actually, 2014-2021 Tundras all have the same mount, I've never bought a pair of rainx that didnt come with the correct adapter. You are doing something wrong or bought a blade specifically designed for a different vehicle.

I run Trico Force wipers, part numbers 25220 and 25260, I just looked it up and they fit ‘21s as well. Long lasting and good performance in all seasons.

Actually read the instructions and figured out how to take apart the adapter and get it to work. Duh.

I thought sightlines were OEM. That is what my dealer installs. Good to know.
