I got a TRD Pro grille from Rave Off Road for my ‘23 Limited. I also got 2 light bars from Diode Dynamics, 1 goes in the bumper slot and the other goes under the toyota letters on the new grille. For the light that goes behind the bumper I got an OEM-style switch from Cali Raised that will fit into one of the blanks on the dash left of the steering wheel. The other light bar was purchased for the TRD Pro grille so it came with an OEM-style switch. My questions: (1) has anyone wired the switches so they come on dimly with the dash lights and then when “on” light up brighter and (2) if so, what wires did you tap into to do that and (3) what is the correct method to pop off the dash to access the switch blanks and wires back there? Any guidance would be very helpful!

7 months + and not one single answer to my question. Was it something I said?

I'm doing something similar, adding the 20" light bar behind the front bumper area. Havent wired anything yet, still laying it all out so I can't answer the wiring question yet but as far as removing the panel...
Use a plastic trim removal tool to not scratch the bezel and pry at it. It has 6 clips that keep it in, 3 on top, 2 on bottom. The first time you pull it off you'll think you're going to break it. Just get one to pop then go around to the others. Here's what it looks like off. There will be wiring plugged into the blank switches, the two blanks on the lower right are for towing mirrors. Just unplug them and pull the blanks out, insert your replacements. There isn't much slack in the wiring, I found it easier to disconnect everything and pull the whole panel out to swap out the blanks. I do suggest labeling everything before you disconnect them all, makes it easier to put them back.

Apparently I'm a dick. The reason you got no replies is because the answer was already here. The reply is still visible below, so @MrKABC I hope that's more to your liking.

Damn dude. No need to be a dick about it. Seriously.

@Omnivore I'll be doing this mod for my own light bar in the next week or so, I'll poke around with my VOM and report back.

Teab, you're not a dick....you just pointed out what the group members are supposed to do first when seeking info. I didn't do that last time I posted my various inquiries. This time I ran across this thread and a couple others in one of my email accounts that I hadn't checked in a long time, so it popped me right back to the thread. That's when I realized I hadn't gotten an answer. I didn't take it harshly then since you were right. Since then, I figured out most of what I was after in the various threads.
