Hi, Anyone ever installed these Xtreme Trux fender flares ? I have a 2021 Tundra Trail SR5. Looks like I would have to take off the factory mud flaps and maybe install some other mud flap. I like that they only come up 2.25" on the side. Would I need to put some clear protection film down first where the edge of the flare meets the painted body ? Some feedback on how they fit would be great.

I think I have the same flares made by EAG. Also think I paid a whole bunch less like under $20020211120_085609.jpg

OP, I just did a quick google EAG fender flare Tundra and confirmed under $200. They are decent, nice low profile as well. I cut my front flap along the mold line to maintain body/cab mount coverage, don't need debris in the gap. PM if you need a photo.

These look like the same flares. They go up the side about 2.25 " ? Did you install them ? Do they work OK without mud flaps ?

IMO, these are perfect for rims with a +30mm offset.

When I look for the EAG ones is says they fit up to 2020 ? One guy on this forum said he couldnt get them to fit. that there was a big gap on the body on the back ones

OP, these flares have been great for a year and a half. They are a bit finiky to put on, but tightening the bolts carefully and slowly will allow you to put them on evenly. Try to avoid zapping in the mudflap screws with a drill or itll pull it too far in on that part.

Definitely add some clear paint protection film underneath.

The gasket they come with kinda sucks, its rounded. I opted for more of a "wiper style" like bushwackers ship with that provides more forgiveness if there are parts of the flare that aren't super even: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CRMWR7H

Thank you. They look good. I like the smaller flares. Do you have mud flaps installed ? It's hard to see in that picture.

You have to remove the factory flaps, like I said above, I kept the inner part of my front flaps for a good reason.

OP, just noticed you have a cement truck. There is a thread titled "building with cement", he put em' on, and that's where I learned of them as well. Just in case you want to see the look...

I’ll just echo exactly what @junior said as I also have these exact flares and went the same route (without the marker). I removed my flaps because from what I can remember the oe flaps won’t work with these guys since they contour onto the body. I’m sure there are others out there that are more minimal that can be tacked on

I ordered the fender flares, the wiper style rubber gasket material and the 3/4" X 100' clear door edge paint protection film. Now I just have to figure out how to install them. Also see what mud flaps I can get to work with them.

Anyone try using the 3/4" clear paint protection tape ? Can you bend it around in a curve without it kinking ? (lays flat ?) Did you mount the flares first and mark the edge somehow so you know where to put the clear paint protection film.

I think thats about what I have... Might even be 1/2". Its an annoying process but mount them up fully, trace edge where they sit with a dry erase marker (faster than blue tape) and allow yourself to be okay with some margin of error as the flare wont go on exactly the same depending on how tight the screws are in each spot.

Good idea marking with erase marker !! I guess mark out about a 1/4” from where they sit. Then I could install the clear tape to the edge of the line. Then it would end up a little higher than the flare edge.

Did you cut the factory mud flaps off so the top part stays and you put the flare over it. Then mount a rubber mud flap with heavy duty self taping metal type bolts

Finally received and installed the X treme Trux fender flares and some rubber mud flaps. Screwed everything on with black self tapping screws on the flares and self tapers and washers. I really like the look. I got the custom rubber edging for it and put down clear tape first.

This turned out pretty nice! I was looking into some flare options and like the low profile ones. Would you happen to have a link to the mudflaps that worked with these?

I asked a guy at a local truck accessories shop before I ordered them off ebay and he said he couldn't get them. He could only get the wide Bushwacker ones. Then once I received the Xteme Trux ones off ebay I didn't have time to install them myself so I asked him to install them. He said he could now get the Xtreme ones. He did a better job installing them for me anyway.
