    Hello!

I know that the tundra limited is delivered with either Bridgestone Dueler or Yokohama Geolandars. I have a couple threads out there with continuous issues on my truck related to the Bridgestones. They have been balanced and road force balanced 4 times. For some reason they can’t hold balance.

I’ve tried pressure changes, rotation, etc and we can’t pin point. I even swapped one tire where I thought it was giving issues with the spare and it helped slightly but still having a problem.

i found a set of Yokohama tires with the matte black red wheels for $1000, they have less than 500 miles on them. Anyone know of issues with these tires? Do they ride better? I’m trying to resolve my issue, and instead of buying new tires only I thought maybe I can get some black wheels out of it :)

I assume vibrations are not normal with this truck? What’s weird is I dropped my pressure all the way to 30 and I only get vibrations under 65, anything over it smooths out? If I go back to 33-35 pressure it vibrates at all speeds.. mostly feels like the rear, with a slight shake in the steering wheel.

Ok, so thinking logically... Bunch of people have Bridgestone Dualers on our tundras, myself included, and no issues nor vibrations.

So tires shouldn't be the issue... Unless it's a defective tire you got - because many of us have those tires.

Maybe it's something else? Did you do any mods? Maybe a defective wheel or tire?

Dealership not able to figure it out for you?

Could it be a defective suspension parts that techs adjust when doing the alignment or balancing?

I’ve done a quick search on Bridgestone Dueler issues and quite a few people have had issues with these tires. I’m taking it back to the dealer tomorrow. First time they balanced them, a few days later I took it to discount tire for a road force. Still vibrated a few days later, took it back and wheels were out of balance again. Now taking it back tomorrow.

they either keep throwing balance or there is more than 1 tire that is defective. It’s so hard to figure out what is going on.

I dropped pressure to 30 all around and vibration at highway speed went away, but still vibrated below 60 even more. Going back to 35 all around vibrations occur at all speeds.

with dropping pressure and it improves, I feel like that rules out any powertrain or suspension issues. Sometimes when I drive I can feel the wheels “thumping” if I hit a certain speed in the 40s.

I’m annoyed with it all by now lol.

I would be surprised that the dealer wouldn't have a road force balance machine.

A standard tire balancer is what most places have and works ok. Road force unit applies pressure on the tire as it were on the vehicle.
I had a sonata that would not balance right. Had the dealer do it with the right machine and worked perfectly.

I had the geolanders on my truck initially... took them off after a few days and bought some wild peaks. Much better tire and went up in size a little.

Toyota dealer claims it’s normal lol.. I said if this is normal then that’s a shame on Toyota.
Upon observation of my tires, there is some “feathering” which I want to think that is the culprit. Bridgestone is offering to replace 2 tires so I may just go that route. Although if the front tires are feathering I need an alignment then. Dealer said to make an appointment if I get tires replaced and it needs an alignment. I told them to check it now but they didn’t.. lol

I would say this could potentially be the issue? Looks to be feathering happening. I would think this has to be the reason.

funny how the dealer didn’t do an alignment when I asked them too, and said to bring it back if I get new tires lol

My '23 Platinum came with the Yoko Geolandrs and after 1k miles, they're fantastic so far. Just wanted to put my opinion in on them

My 1794 came with them too. They rode fine, no problem. The downside was the tread on them. Its like they are demo tires. If you saw the ones they sell at a tire shop there is a big difference with the meat in the tread.

Take it for what it's worth but I think those tires are garbage. I had the same on my 2020 and couldn't give them away with like 15k on them. Not to mention they looked like they had more than 15k. Finally someone bought all four for $100. Bridgestone also comes on Tacomas and 4Runners. Buddy at work got like 30-35k on them on his 4runner. I also had them on a 2017 Tacoma, not the best tire. Manufs like to skim on tires, cost savings. For the price of new trucks you would think they would bring some really good tires. How many miles do you have? As for alignment, I had Toyota do a free alignment because it was pulling and steering wheel was off center from factory. Done under warranty.

5200 miles as of today lol. Vibrations started at 4k and it seems as if the outer edge tread is wearing down more and more as days go on.

I have 2 options: buy a set of takeoffs with new wheels (looking at a TRD wheel with Yokohama geolandars) or just buy a set of 4 new tires and put them on my limited wheels. Both would be about the same price..

I call bullshit on the dealer. I would reach out and open a case with Toyota corp. No way in hell would I be looking at new or used tires on a $60k+++ truck with only 5200 miles. Feathering shouldn’t be happening so fast, if at all on those tires. Mud and AT tires are the ones most know for that. My BFG KO2 are wearing out perfect and I rotate them every 5k. You didn’t even get to 4k and you have an issue. I say it’s an alignment/ suspension issue. Those tires are garbage in my opinion but not for that to happen at 4-5k miles.

I agree, I wrote an email up to Toyota about it. I’m not trying to cause drama with the dealer or anything. I told them I just want it resolved and I shouldn’t have to be replacing tires at 5k miles. The dealer even wrote “recommended to replace front tires” on my service receipt lol.

It has nothing to do with drama. You paid a pretty penny for that truck. It shouldn’t have those tire issues at 4k. Do you have another dealer near by.

Every 4X4 truck I have owned cupped the outside of the front tires. All the tires were aftermarket. My stock ones on my 2022 are wearing fine.....so far.

Being an over the road trucker I am not a fan of either although mine has bridge stone and so far so good ,but if I have any trouble it will only be michelins with a high number tread wear and temp a or b and traction a. What you get is what you pay for.
