Just replaced the 20yo stereo tape deck with wireless CarPlay. I feel like I have traveled ahead in time!
Put 285/60/18 YK-HTX's on 5 years ago because Discount Tire didn't have the Geolanders in stock "TODAY" that I wanted. I have absolutely loved these tires. Quiet, super grippy and they have lasted over 5 years. Unfortunately, they have discontinued them. Anyone found a grippy road tire they really like? I have read a lot about the Michelin Defenders here. Is that the best option?

I have the YK-HTXs on my truck, and love them too. I replaced Michelin Defender LTX M/S because they were the NOISIEST tire I've ever had on any vehicle in 60 years of driving. I know the HTXs have been discontinued, but the tread pattern on the Geolander H/T G056 looks almost identical to the HTX tread. I will NEVER go back to any Michelin. As far as I'm concerned, you can't beat the Yokohama for the highway.

PS ... I went up one size, to 265/70 R18.

They do look similar.....and the price is not bad. Getting tires next week. I will keep these in mind. Thanks Mike!

I would highly suggest the Michelin Defender LTX’s. By far one of the best truck tires on the market. And they will perform great on light offroad paths just not
mud (they suck). There is not an AT tire at least that even comes to the rain and ice/sleet performance. I never found them to be noisy even when they had 70k plus miles. And the performance is unbelievably consistent over the life of them.

The are okay in deep snow but I have never not gotten home in a blizzard and they are boring as hell to look at. I have have never owned a tire of any type or brand that has not needed several plugs over the life span of the tire.
