Yota LED Amber Grill lights ???

Has anyone(s) installed these into their Tundra Pro? I pulled the trigger in advance of a Switchpro installation this week so just hoping they are decent quality. Good, bad, ugly????

 

I can't speak to the quality of the lights, but they get a big no from me in terms of putting them on a Toyota. I think it's pretty beat seeing non-Raptors with the "raptor grille light" look. See them in other Fords, and Rams in particular. Ugh. Just kind of PepBoys/Autozone -esque. No offense, but you asked for an opinion.

 

Appreciate honesty and I’ve debated same. I sure like the look but get where you are coming from.

 

I put the white ones on my 2021 Honeycomb grill. Super easy install and just went into the fuse box. I call them grill lights, not 'raptor lights'. I say get them, for $100, can always take them off after a few months.

 

I did them a little differently and went with white to match my running lights.

 

I like my amber LEDs I put on my TRD Pro grille.
They match the amber DRLS and Rigid LED pods.

Don't see them at all when they are off.







Tapped them into to parking lights so they come on with parking and headlights.
They also blink with the alarm and remote start..

Cost about $30, most of the connectors and wire I already had laying around.
Made my own harness, soldered and shrink wrapped all connections.
Even put a Deutsch Connector inline for when I need to pull the grille off.
Hid the wiring so it cannot be seen..





I get it some don't care for the look.
I don't care for the rear LED strip rear brake/turn/parking light bars..
To each their own...

 

Honestly, each of these images posted don't look bad at all - still, just not for me. But this is proof that a tundra can improve just about anything.

This is helpful. I covered my fogs with Rigid amber covers so the amber will match up, and will also match amber pod lights on the front sides of my roof rack which is 2 weeks out. I’ll have red/white halo lights in rear for surf fishing purposes.

 

Totally agree! Too many Raptor wanna be's.

 

overdone. and check your local ordinance on legality. Here in VA running lights like those that are not a factory option = a failed state inspection.

 

I for one couldn't disagree more. They are just lights and is a cool place to put them. So what if the "raptor" made them cool. Lights similar to these have always been around as a way to signal a wider body vehicle. Mostly on the roof back in the day on dully's and such.

Lights are just lights, and if you dont like them, that's totally your opinion to have and not do them on your truck. But I wouldn't say we are wanna be's. No difference in putting light bars or ditch lights or rock lights.

Yep and not sure that would have any impact whatsoever on an inspection. Maybe if they were full on light bars that stayed on or something.

 

I have them on my aftermarket pro grille. Very easy install.

 

Seen several people on Youtube say they have had at least one of the light lenses fall off.

 

i'm with you as well. those lights are a significant styling detail on the Raptor so i'll just leave it to them and save the off-chance that from a distance someone mistakes my truck for a Ford.

 

I didn’t go with the raptor style but something different all together and inside the hood bump. It comes down to your preference. Do what you want and enjoy it. I must have impressed another tundra owner, saw one the other day with the same set and same location.

 

Just another option, Baja Designs S8 light bar with amber back lighting. Mine are hooked up to Switch Pros, back light comes on with ignition. Definitely more expensive but you get two lights in one

 

Kinda like they would mistake your Platinum for a TRD Pro since you switched the grille?

OP asked an opinion on whether or not we like grille lights and I shared mine. On a Raptor I think they look great but they're also a proprietary feature to that specific model so on my own truck adding them isn't my preference and it clearly offended you. The good news is we're entitled to our own opinions here and I can respect yours so if you like them it makes me happy to know you're happy. enjoy your weekend.

Brother, I like mine and from my research, the Yota LED’s are the best quality Raptor lights you’ll find and with that comes the price. I have mine wired to come on as soon as the engine is started. I like the safety feature with them on coupled with the DRL’s. I’ve had mine for 3 months and just recently had one of the LED’s dim just a little. I sent a pic to Yota and they sent me a replacement LED bulb to splice in. The bulbs are warranted for 6 months. If they sputter out after the warranty, I’ll be a @AZ Red Nek wannabe with the BD S8 in hood bulge, if not before then! Lol

 

Now the 2022 Tundras have them....

I love my grille lights!

 

Only the Pro does I think

 

I've mine for about 18 months but less than 10K kilometers and one is dead. They are Yoda. Past their warranty time.
