I finally had an afternoon to get my cab mount relocation done. It put the body mount about an inch and a half behind the firewall.

I got it done just in time for a nice weekend camping in the north end of the Gila with some friends.

What did you use to mount your propane tank and what size tank is it.

It's the tank and bracket that AT Overland sells. Not sure if the size.

I finally got a chance to get the new bumper built and mark and cut the front fenders today.
I'm thinking I might try to hammer the firewall back first before tubbing just to see how necessary it is for the 39's. I'll end up tubbing anyways, but it looks like hammering will get me close.
Bumper is at powdercoat now so I'm hoping to have it all back together next week.

I relocated the secondary air injection pump intake and cut an inch out of the rear fenders this afternoon.

I had a chance today to get the front bumper put on. We built a new bumper to match the fenders being cut 1.5".

Not much happening with the truck the last couple months. We did end up going camping a couple weeks ago and ended up pulling my parents camper to make it easier with a 3 year old and pregnant wife. We learned we aren't trailer people pretty quick.

    PXL_20240223_230007791.PORTRAIT.ORIGINAL.jpg

I do have some big plans for the truck the next few months. I'm going to sell my supercharged single cab and hopefully supercharge this one after that one is sold.
I'm planning on pulling the bed and building a flatbed for shop use and also building a "tray" for the camper to sit on so the entire camper setup can be removed easily with jacks and left by the shop without worrying about it being sealed up. It should open up some cool storage and organizational opportunities.

I'm also going to list the AT Atlas for sale soon and replace it with a 4 Wheel Camper Project M. We need the larger bed and a little more interior room that the vertical walls of the project m afford. 2 kids and 2 dogs will be tight in the AT.
I'd also trade somebody for a Project M if I could find somebody wanting to do so.

We'll see what the timeline actually is, the shop has been slammed lately and a baby due in May/June will probably slow it down a bit.
Or I may decide to rip it all off next weekend and just go for it. No idea yet...

The bumper, bed and camper are off now. It took a whole day to remove all the bed build out stuff. It will be nice to start fresh on the next interior build.

Yes sir. Plan is a flatbed and then I will be building a separate tray that the camper will be mounted to permanently. The tray will be easily removable with some camper style jacks so the truck can roll without the camper easily.

I had a little bit of time this afternoon to get the frame mounts and runners for the bed figured out. I think I am going to play with making the bed a bit longer than the factory bed. The plan now is to mount the spare tire vertically near the headache rack and build a storage box on the other side. This will move the camper back 13" but it will eliminate the tire hanging off the rear of the truck. I think the overall length will be close to the original length with the swingout.

While doing some research on new campers I came across the Tune Outdoors M1. Has anybody heard of them or seen one in person?
I am pretty set on a project m, but they seem like a cool alternative.

See you over on ih8mud - didn’t know you were here. Awesome people here - especially Travis.

@STravis Can’t wait to see the flatbed build - any chance you’ll make it to a Tundras to Sedona one year? I know it’s easy with a baby coming and all. ;)

There's a couple good walkthroughs on youtube. I've seen a few on the road and they looked really wide. Gives you a lot of interior space but might get beat up on narrow trails and cause a lot of drag on the highway.

Unfortunately wide is what I need. I need a camper we can sleep side to side in for the bigger bed for the kiddos and dogs.
The AT is the perfect camper for me except for all the people that insist on going camping with me haha.

Thinking about selling your camper? :monocle:

Wife and I talked last night about missing our four wheel camper and want to buy another one or something similar so we could tow an aluminum boat at the same time.
