Hello everyone, could anyone point me in the right direction with experience with a 8” readylift kit? I have both my kits being delivered this coming Thursday. I have researched the install etc. It doesn’t look too bad. My question is what upper control arms does every one use for that size lift. I called readylift and they said the stock ones would work just fine. I currently have the readylift 4/2 with the readylift UCA. This is on a 21 SR5 4x4. Readylift said I should use my stock UCA..

That's a lot of inches, it must all be bracket lift if stock ucas work.

@TucsonTundra1794 to my knowledge yes. This is my first lift kit I will be installing. I purchased the 8” and the bilstein 8” coilovers for the front.

Can I ask why so much of a lift? If only for show then your stock components should do just fine. If you ever plan on off roading at all I think keeping stock components will fail you. Did the kit specify a specific type of wheel/tire combo?

@TucsonTundra1794 I do off road it and have buried it to the axles with my current lift and have fun. I want to get it in deeper waters. I was going to do a 10”-12” but I also drive it daily currently about 10 miles a day. Sometimes I’ll do longer trips but nothing over 100 miles round trip. It only has 26k miles on it. The kit does say that it was developed for 37”x12.50 on a 20x9. I currently have 20x10 -19mm. This kit does allow 35” or 37” to be used. I also already have a BMC. So clearance won’t be an issue. I think an after market UCA should be used but all of them I have seen have been for 2”-3” lifts

You can put 35s on a stock 2021, 37” on a 2-3” lift. Only way to raise the axle height is bigger tires or portal axles. 8” lift id be running 44s otherwise go to the usual 2-3” and keep stock cross member and run 35/37s.

The RC ucas you have are a higher caster than stock because of the increased angle.

if the 8 inch lift is a true 8 in drop bracket, then you will have excess caster when the arm sits at the original angle

Ah ok, now it's starting to make sense. If your current ucas handle it now they should on the new lift. I wouldn't worry about it just keep an eye on them.

it comes down to aligntment. I would keep them and then see how the alignment looks with the new lift.

if it has so much caster that its less enjoyable to drive, then go back to stock

Agreed, I was solely thinking about part failure I didn't even think about alignment issues.

I dont think there is any concern about part failure

I have the 8” ReadyLift. Running 37x13.50 R18 Toyo MT’s, I did a BMC for clearance. Truck rides great. Has Bilstein 5100’s all around.

@V3N0M looks great!! Did you do a gear change with those 37’s? I was looking into 38’s and 40’s.

@21cavalryTSS no gear change, I honestly don’t mind it, if I want more pedal sensitivity, I use the tow mode button. That’s only when I have my bed full of gear when heading out on trips to the desert.

@V3N0M that’s good to know. I know a lot of people do gear changes with 37’s and bigger cause they lose hp or the truck becomes sluggish. I already have L/T headers with off road cats and a custom dyno tune using hp tuners it woke the truck up. I also had my tune done on premium (93) octane. So I’m hoping that with the bigger tires they won’t affect it too much. I also don’t really tow with it. Most I do is play in the mud with it and drive 10 miles a day to work.

Hi ! I have the same kit as you before with ready lift uca ! Now I put ready lift 8 inch lift and on my side I keep the ready lift uca and no problem for wear component or wheel alignment ( got my own shop of suspension and wheel alignment) caster still in the sweet spot after for sure u adjust the cam bolt in the new diff drop bracket !!ready lift told u that because with the (real kit) diff drop, inlet spacer, top
Spacer, sway bar extension, longer knuckle u bring back close stock All angle so stock uca is good but like I said from my side even with the ready lift uca i was able to do wheel alignment really easy in the oem specs !! Cheers
