I have a 2023 Toyota tundra, hybrid platinum that has a transmission leak and Toyota can’t figure out how to fix it. It’s been in the shop for 76 days now. They have replaced the hybrid motor and the transmission, and it still leaks between the hybrid motor and the transmission. Supposedly, they are sending in an engineer from Toyota to diagnose the issue. They have tried four times to fix it without success as anyone else had a similar issue.

First post and it has been in the shop for 76 days? Warrrany and Corporate. Or trade-in and move on.

I bought the truck used with 28k miles on it so it doesn’t qualify for lemon law. Powertrain warranty goes to 60,000 miles. The technician told me he’s replaced everything he can replace and it still leaks. Most recent report was they are waiting for the Toyota engineer to show up to diagnose the problem and that was two weeks ago so I’m paying on a car truck that I can’t drive and I can’t trade because the transmission leaks.

I’ve asked the dealer for my money back, or give me what I bought it for, $62k in December 2023, they offered me $55k for it. From when I bought it to when the leak showed up, I put less than 1500 miles on it. The general manager at the dealership will not talk to me. The service manager says they are following Toyota protocol. Complete BS.

I would call Timothy Abeel and Ass.....888-611-5481 even though you may not be eligible to the lemon law, it is under warranty and they can ask Toyota Corp for some $$$ for your time and engery...Worth trying. I would also call Toyota Corp and make a formal complaint if you haven't yet as well....I get things happen, but 76 DAYS?! Sorry to hear about your struggles!
