Howdy folks, former US Marine here.

I just got a 2024 Tundra Limited TRD 4x4 and already swapped the grill for the TRD grill, installed the lightbar and got the marker lights from: https://www.sparksparts.com/p-3rd-gen-tundra-trd-pro-marker-lights-pt35834220ab

So there's no instructions. I don't see anything to plug the marker lights into and worse off, since I've already installed the TRD grill and center lights, I fear I have to take the grill off again (which was an atrocious job!) and do this all over again.

Any documentation or steps? I imagine I am going to have to find a connector and tap into a power source somewhere. Probably the headlights, which I wish I did not have to do...and I don' want to tap into the center lights as those can only be used off road (too bright for the street).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you need to tell us you’re a former marine?
Also I thought it was once a marine always a marine… suspicious.
This has been covered many times. Search. Many use an add a fuse to the passenger side fuse box.

I'm proud to be a former US Marine, and Desert Storm vet. How's that suspicious?

I'm also new to this forum, but yes, I'll search.

    Thanks for the ... welcome...

The thread linked above has the same strategies/locations for tapping into for power source for either the marker lights or the TRD pro fender flares. Just as an FYI, you will also need some screws and push pin retainers to mount the markers lights to the grill to keep it locked in place (see attachment, bottom left diagram).

I highly discourage ordering any parts from RoR (full name redacted as they have been banned from here) but there is a decent amount of info here below. If you do not have the wiring connector for the marker lights, they do have a decent one that I have used on my swap that may be worth looking into. A simple google search of "2022 tundra wire-harness-for-tundra-trd-pro-oem-marker-lights" should get you to where you need to go.

I'm 99% certain that you will need to to pull off the front to access the mounting locations for the marker lights. Would make sure you don't have plans for a lower light bar or swapping over headlights to Alpha Rex variants in the near future as you are better suited to do everything at once.

Ok thanks I got the wiring harness and I'll have to pull the grill, again. The black insert on the right hand side wheel well I broke, so I have to get replacement for that. Hopefully me tapping into the power for the DRL doesn't cause me headaches/problems. That place that "should not be mentioned" said I could tap into that from the fusebox....not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Are you going to do fender flares also ? If so wait and do them together
Either way I would tap Into the igr fuse in your fuse box that will keep your markers light on whenever the truck is on though (which I prefer)

Do you know where that fuse is (in the fuse box) and the best way to tap into that? Do I need to go buy something other than what was provided by the (not supposed to mention vendor) regarding the cable for the 3 lights?

Also, no, no fender flares. I don't like that look :)

Ok installed the 3 light bar, properly, followed the instructions. No light.

First bad code I got was the grille vent, which turns out I forgot to plug it back in.
Now I am getting the "Parking Support Brake Malfunction, Visit Your Dealer" message. Can't clear it and I have no idea what is causing it.

MAYBE the fact the 3 yellow lights are plugged into ENG-ING 1, though I thought it blew a fuse. Even after unplugging it from the fuse box, the alert is not going away.

Sorta lost here. I can take some photos, but I am sure someone is going to yell at me that I did something incorrectly (again, I followed the instructions). Which fuse SHOULD be in the wiring to the fuse box? Is it a 5 amp? 10 amp? Are both slots supposed to be fitted? The fuse did pop on the cable, so I replace it with a 5 amp.

You know how to tell if someone was in the Marines? He will tell you in the first five minutes of your first conversation with him.

Usually, I like to introduce myself with my 1 rep max bench press weight and model Traeger grill I have. But sometimes I'll introduce myself as a former Staff Sergeant OIF/OEF veteran. No big deal...

If I understand correctly, you only put one fuse in the wiring provided? There should be another slot in that fuse tap, you pull out the fuse from the slot where the fuse tap will go in and add that fuse to the second slot …..at least that’s what I did (and might be wrong) for fender flare lights , lol I’m figuring it as I go along as well :p

edit: also look up a video or something maybe you missed one small electrical connection up top when you put the grill back together

Ok per the vendor, that fuse tap goes into eng-ing 1. There was no fuse in that slot. The cabling for the light had a fuse in it, already, but broken. I replaced with a 5amp. There are 2 slots, does it need another 5amp?

Even after pulling the fuse tap from the fuse box, the "Parking Support Brake Malfunction, Visit Your Dealer" warning isn't going away. I think I may have to pull the grill off again and see if there was something missed. I didn't need to tear the grill down, I just needed to pull off the vent (not sure what its called) that opens/closes air to the radiator. I think that may be the source of the problem, but everything else is connected.

The fuse issue, eh, I'm not an electrical genius, I just followed the directions and I double checked but the blown fuse issue is a problem.

My best friend was a frat guy and a marine aviator. That dual reference comes out of his mouth in every new conversation I have witnessed over the last 40 years.

I think he drank too much water at camp Lejeune.

Your fuse box should have some extra fuses on the side along with a teeezer type tool …. (Mine does) , stick a second fuse in there and try it

I pulled the 5amp fuse to replace the broken one. I can pull another fuse but I think its 10amp.

    Nice edit!

No on is being rude to you. It's all in jest. You can't introduce you as a former marine and expect not to get some ribbing.

That fact that you served or the branch you served in is completely irrelevant to your automotive wiring question. Your service isn't going to get you a discount here or earn you any credibility. I completely understand being proud of your service, (see my username) but if you're going to start your requests for help with that info, people are going to make wise cracks about it.

I imagine there's a healthy amount of veterans on this site. As a veteran who knows veteran culture, you shouldn't be surprised, and more importantly, you shouldn't be offended.

I'm glad you got your wiring issue sorted.

    Thank you for your service.

Freedom isn't free! It costs a buck 'o' five!

Hi there, former United States of America cashier here. And I'll have everyone here know I received a 5 cent raise during operation Covid-19.

Good luck with your build, hope it works out for you. Will be installing a TRD Pro grille eventually.
