I looked up those kryptonite reservoir mounts in that fox video thinking maybe I could retrofit them to work for my needs. Holy smokes $170 . Think I’ll go back to the drawing board. They do look sweet though..

You could buy some reservoir weld on tabs, flatten two tabs, cut some 3/16 plate...boom. You have what you need.

Yup. Thought of that but wasn’t sure how easy the tabs would flatten out. They look pretty robust. Nothing a big hammer can’t solve, right?

I think you’re right though; going to have to be a custom fab job :welder:

Take a rosebud and heat that tab up nice and glowing red. It will flatten out nicely.

That’s a 3 day suspension, right? Though it would be shocKING if he learned from it and turned over a new leaf this spring. :anonymous:

Installed the rear shocks today. Pretty easy. Pissed out the N2, installed shocks, flexed out, charged shocks to ~205 psi.

    IMG_4210.jpg IMG_4215.jpg

I then made some roost guards.

    IMG_4216.jpg

Upper control arms and torsion key tool came in today:

But of course I tested them out a bit. It was snowing, so nothing out of the normal. I have the compression at 20% and they really handled the normal cringeworthy roads around here rather well. I didn't have any of the bucking that transfers to the front. The front is still ass, and I haven't made up my mind on where I want the front to be at yet. 2" and I don't have to do anything more than install front shocks and upper control arms, get an alignment. These extended travel shocks can go a bit more, but why? This is a tow rig after all and nothing more.

I can see when I have 3000 lbs in the bed (pin weight) the compression firmness will go from 20% to 70%+ for sure. This will sure be a welcomed change when towing.

I was going back and forth if I was even going to mention this, but this could have been a bad day. Using jack stands is something my Dad taught me to use religiously since one of his brothers got pinned beneath a car.

My 6 month old floor jack failed yesterday when I was flexing out the suspension to charge the shocks back up with N2. One of the rear tires was just put back on and I was jacking the truck back up to remove the jack stand when it failed. Truck dropped an inch or so back onto the jack stand. I wasn't in any danger unless my fingers were in between the truck frame and jack stand.

The point of this post is keep your good habits. It sucks where I keep my stands (overhead shelf) but I get them out anyway. Since a young teen I have been using jacks/stands and never had a failure. Guess my Dad gave some great advice and always told me if he caught me not using both the garage would be off limits. I will have to tell my uncle that was pinned beneath his car what happened. He will get a kick out of that.

Now the search is on for another jack. Anyone use these?

I've had the Harbor Freight low profile 3 ton steel one for years. Quick to lift, low enough to get under the wife's car, but lifts tall enough for my truck. Wait for a coupon and it's a great deal.
