I don’t think there is a clear “winner” truck anymore. The previous gen Tundra was definitely the best reliability wise but now, I think choose your poison and hope for good things. I think they are all well built, modern, better interiors with more tech than ever before. That said, they all have issues and none seems heads and shoulders above the rest. You can poke holes in each brand. Pick your brand loyalty and hope for the best, I feel in today’s market. They are all overpriced. You can say that about each brand.

I am not trashing his experience. Someone has bad feelings/experiences about this truck so be it. I am however question his judgement. As I stated before never buy a vehicle without at least a weeks time of research into it. Also if a vehicle does not have your "must" have list then don't buy it. Move on to the next one. Trading in a 3 year old vehicle, buying a new one and then upgrading and then come to find out its not working for you is not a good place to be.

So when did spending money equal not being allowed to share thoughts.

Again - some of the issues are certainly legit - most everyone would be mad about them. Some things like options not offered are known up front - buy what YOU like - but buying and complaining it’s not there when others offer it is not really helping anyone.

All I got out of this is you didn't do your homework, and you complain a lot to Radom people.

One note is if you have front parking sensor set to off in cluster screen, the all around camera view won't show until you select it on.

I appreciate the honest feedback. I could see why you would be disappointed considering the price you paid vs meeting expectations. I have often thought of upgrading my 19 to something newer but i really love my truck despite some of its shortcomings. For me the best truck is the one that is paid for. Good luck with your rig and whaever you decide to do with it. Dont worry about the mob hating crew here. Just a lot of loyal toyota boyz staning up for the brand. You comitted a cardinal sinnby suggesting another brand might be better lol.

UPDATE - after being brought back to reality buy you all I will not be changing for now unless I think about a possible change to a LEXUS 550 next year.

Thank you for giving me a reality check

You were all right - the Tundra TRD PRO is a very good truck. I knew what I was getting and knew that I would have to change the tires out and various other MODS and upgrades.

Actually, the MODS and Upgrades are fun to do. I also learn how to do them as well.

My dealership called me and informed they will be picking my truck up via a flatbed to reprogram my 360 Camera system. It works except when I go into off road MTS or Crawl the Off Road does not exist. I suspect that when they fixed my 360 Camera system the first time they did load the Off Road View.

I apologize for jumping the gun and posting too harsh and nit-picking review (one of those bad moments).

Here are the best UPGRADES I would recommend:

Beatsonic AMP Upgrade - it really is worth it and brings the JBL Speakers to Life

Bedrug - I have always liked this in my bed and on the tailgate.

Matt Screen Protector - worth getting it does cut down on the glare.

Tires and Westcott Lift - T.B.D. but I am sure it will be awesome.

Again, thank you all for putting me straight and making me realize why I bought a TUNDRA TRD PRO!!!

If you intended to purchase a Wescott lift for your Tundra, why not get a Platinum that had your front and rear fancy seats and HU display?
You wasted your money with the Pro being you're removing what makes it a Pro.

I was under the impression just adding the Westcott Lift would not affect the TRD Ride and Shocks.

    Is this incorrect?

I think the new 2024 Lexus GX550 Overtrail Plus with Levinson sound is a Capstone killer for those that don't really need a pickup and Land Cruiser killer if you don't want to pay $80k for a 4 cylinder with ok stereo, wimpy wheels and tires, and kinda plain interior...the 1958 would be great at $50k but that will be awhile until the had to have it crowd goes home...

Yeah, I have a 2021 but keep a lookout on the new Tundras and though some of your problems mean nothing to me I thought your input was fine.

Personally Ram is the last truck I would get but that is just from personal biases that may be real or just an ill-informed opinion I have had for decades.

You might consider test driving a Platinum. I have a 2023 Platinum, and came very close to trading in on a 2024 Pro a couple of weeks ago. When I test drove the Pro I changed my mind. The Platinum is much more comfortable and rode significantly better. The Platinum has most of the features you want already included.
Just my opinion, but after making a deal the test drive killed it for me. I’d just about guarantee you can trade the Pro for a Platinum, and along with the better interest specials they have going you won’t be out a dime. Might even come out ahead financially.
Lastly, I have the Westcott kit on my Platinum. People shit on it but unless there was just something wrong with the Pro I drove, it absolutely rides better than a stock Pro does. The Platinum rode better stock than the Pro did also.
The Platinum has “comfort” and “custom” mode that the Pro does not have. Don’t know why these aren’t available on the other trims (the Platinum Sequoia doesn’t have them either for some reason) and it’s a significant improvement in ride quality.

I am curious to hear more about your experience with Beatsonic. Does it add more bass, midrange or highs? What is the improvement over the Pro's JBL system exactly? I am considering this for my Pro and I am relatively satisfied with the audio performance but okay spending a few more bucks if its worth the improvement.

It ups the wattage going to the speakers...takes the factory signal and boosts it...that is the long and short of it...

Need to get a Chevy/GMC and Ford to complete the stable of trucks.
Going to Turbo motors while adding all kind of electronic nannies and convivence features have lowered long term reliability in my opinion. If any company can overcome it, it would be Toyota or Honda. Time will tell.

I purchased a factory extended warranty on both Turbo Fords I bought, because Ford. Every Toyota right up to this 2018, I never purchased one, because Toyota.

If I bought a new one today from Toyota, I would buy the factory extended warranty because over complication and reliance on electronics. It makes me wonder am I just accepting worse reliability?

Edit: It might be time to consider leasing and flipping all new vehicles before the standard warranties are up and forget about buying them used years from now.

The Pro is a come on to complete with the Raptor premium models. It sounds like the OP needs a Platinum or something more luxurious than the Pro. The TRD package can come on the Platinum models now which sounds like the OP would welcome.

I didn't go Pro instead went TRD limited due to the fact the tires being smaller and the hideous red interior. The audio upgrade system appears to help the streaming portion of the audio to the truck and not the radio/ XM portion.

    Just to justify your choice of not buying an extended warranty for your 2018;
I bought Toyota Platinum warranties for both my 2005 and 2014 Tundras when I got them new and never had to use them.
Although the air pump crapped out on the 2005 at 98K milesand I recently for the 2014 got the tower cam fixed at 110K miles.
Both repairs where much cheaper than buying another truck.

I also agree when the time comes for a new Tundra, hopefully not for another 10 years, I will certainly buy an extended warranty..

I don't really understand the mechanics of how that helps so much. Unless the amp has a cleaner signal. I would think the wattage would just make them louder?

Doesn't the TRD Pro come standard with the heated and ventilated seats? Only asking cause I'm actually looking to buy a White TRD Pro with the red interior and I'm looking at a 23 that has the heated and ventilated seats?

Absolutely nothing. I didn't need my 21 but didn't like what was on the horizon with all the MAJOR changes.
I really though thought the folks buying the 3rd gen would love them. Just not me. Sorry for your experience, expensive lesson.

Well OP clearly exchanges vehicles frequently, so maybe for the trumped up resale value that PRO's command? :notsure:
