TRD Pro Grill

Hey fellas need some help, finally want to switch my grill to a TRD Pro grill (Honeycomb with TOYOTA script) But local dealer can't locate a grill without me knowing the correct part number for a Cement grill. Does anyone know what it might be? I looked on here before asking for help, even used that sticky someone posted to help search parts and no dice. Dealer suggested I try and look for a TRD Pro truck and use it's Vin number to be able to order one. Can someone help me out? Thanks

 

There is not an already painted TRD Pro grille available in the Cement color...at least not for 2019+ Tundra...

You'll want to order either a Super White or Midnight Black Metallic (Attitude Black) and have it color matched...

Also be aware that the supplier for these pulled out of the Toyota Supply Chain in December 2022 and there may be delays...

I believe you'd have to match the paint yourself. I don't think they sell they already painted.

 

It will be a paint matched surround, based on a white one or black one...

 

When I did mine, I used Painted OEM Parts. They're a bit expensive but offered great quality. No idea how long it would take to get Cement, though.

I had to get my 2014 MGM painted locally in early 2015.
The TRD Pros didn't come out in MGM until late 2015.


I pulled the TOYOTA letters and had them painted MGM as well.
Something to consider @J's 4x4 if you want a perfect match since you probably have to get the surround painted locally anyway...

 

I gave them that part number, but I guess there's a code at the end for Cement. I actually gave them sparks part and said I was missing the last 3 digits which he couldn't figure out.

 

It looks like 1H5 is your paint code.
But as @ryanwgregg suggested your best bet would be to buy a black or white and have it painted locally.

 

@ryanwgregg thanks for the info. 1st link was $1,400. I was like HOLYSMOKES! But 2nd link was $600. I think I can pull that. Appreciate your guys help. Now I just have to get that sensor everyone says is a pain in the butt. Hopefully I get lucky.

 

I think I’m going to just piecemeal the parts from eBay for my grill and bulge and hope for the best. I can’t spend 1700 , that would not leave me with any money to get the new headlights and harness. Would like to have enough money to get the bumper caps for the front also. What are acrylic caps? I see that on the bumper shells site as an option.

 

All you need is the garnish for the sensor. I bought a knock off one from eBay for my 21 and had no issues.

Think of the acrylic caps are a "case" that snap onto your existing trim...

 

I got the 2014-2017 color matched cement pro grill with a Jomax relocation bracket…..no need for the garnish. Not sure if they still offer the “old” style trd pro grills….

the trick is finding a relocation bracket that doesn’t set off the Nannie’s….the ant was. Ot working for me and I lucked into the Jonas but they stopped making them

Were your TOYOTA letters rattle canned or painted professionally? I’m trying to find a DIY solution to make mine semi-glossy black or perhaps a satin black.

 

I had to get the surround painted locally and had them paint the letters..

 

I had my wheels powder coated a semi gloss black and asked for a can of the spray for my center caps. If you're going for something similar to my wheels...

I've rattle canned a few other things with it n really like the results

 

I will say I did rattle can my aluminum LED light strips when I replaced the cheap AMP step lights.
I used Exact Match Car Paint Made Easy | AutomotiveTouchup paint and their clearcoat.
It's held up OK, but if I did better prep and painting it would look better..

 

Yes....the sensor relocation kit is the issue. I got lucky with mine as well.

 

Have you tried using that rattle can on plastics? I’m trying to repaint these letters…

 

@1lowlife how tough is it to pull the letters off and re-attach? any tips ... i really excel at breaking sh1t

 

I used the same and have had zero issues.

 

I flossed them off using a heavy fishing line.
I trimmed a bunch of 3M molding tape to reattach, still there after 8 years.

Try not to nick the grille, it's a bit soft..

 

Yeah, I actually painted my other set of center caps(not pictured) with that paint and really liked the result. When I get home, i'll snap a picture of them and post up. I think you'll like the outcome if black semi-gloss is what your lookin for.

 

Awesome, I appreciate the help! On that note, did you have to do any prep (scuff plastic, plastic adhesion promoter, etc) or apply any sealer over the base coat?
