Does anyone have an experience with an Overland tune on a Tundra. There is lot of information on Tacoma’s using Overland Tuning from reputable YouTubers pretty much all positive. I called Rafael from rc tunning fl. His main clients are Tacoma’s but can-do Tundra’s also. Pricing is less than $500. Includes Vin registration/unlock, tsb update (If applicable), tune and future free updates or changes (If you get mods)

He also said quote “It’s a pretty big difference. Buttery smooth shifting, slight mpg gains on average, better power delivery, low end torque, HP/torque by 2600 rpm.” They offer different level of tuning aggressions, light, mild, medium, spicy and race Octane learning, it’ll adjust slightly based on 87 89 91 93.

He’ll let you try a couple tunes to ensure you get the right one for your driving style.

I know he is a salesman. But with all the positive reviews form youtubers with Tacoma’s.

    Any thoughts, suggestions, opinions?

I have a stock 2021 Tundra 5.7 L, 4x4 dlb cap, 3” lift, rims bigger tires. Future exhaust, On the fence for a CAI. Thinking a drop in instead.

I got an Overland Tune through Yota Performance Tuning a few months ago, and have been pretty satisfied with it so far. Basically I’d repeat everything you were told. I believe I ended up with medium/spicy option. He explained to me that the throttle response is the main difference. Tow/Haul bumps to up to spicy from medium during normal operation. It’s almost a touch to responsive now, I’ll probably get him to adjust it if he’s ever back in my area.

Yes. A few guy's from the supercharger thread have used them for remote tuning. The tuner came over from the Tacoma community and the company has a pretty good reputation overall.

Great, Thank you for the reply’s. I just couldn’t find reviews for the Tundra’s at all. I needed that helping kick. He’ll be in my area, N central Florida in August. I think I’ll go ahead and have it done, medium/spicy.

Love mine, makes the truck way more livable. I got the medium/spicy as well. I did have them reduce the throttle response a bit though, was a bit too jumpy for me.

Did the OTT tune today with Jeff Tillery from Relentless Tuning in Alabama, agree with what others have said, shifts much better than before. Much better throttle response, I opted for the Mild/Medium options. Don't think I would want the throttle to be any touchier. Time will tell if there are any mileage differences, but after about 100 miles of driving, the tune is a big improvement.

What was the price all said and done? The are coming to my area soon and I'm interested. I have a petal commander that fixes my throttle response but wouldn't mind better shifting and fuel mileage.

Just finished mine. They had it done in one tune. Throttle and shifting is much better. Haven’t had a chance to check mileage. Anxious to tow with it and see if I see a change. It’s definitely a lot more fun to drive. Even with the 5.29’s I couldn’t spin the tires but afterwards, not an issue.

I am thinking about getting this tune for my truck. There's a local guy in Denver offering the OTT tune. https://www.coloradotoyotatuning.com/

Anyone experience downsides with this tune? I've read nothing but good things. @reywcms I think you've worked with multiple tunes/tuners. How does OTT stack up now that you've got miles on it?

My previous maggy blower was tuned by OTT no complaints. I've gone with Snivspeed for my whipple.

i'm looking at this too once lift/wheels/tires/armor goes on. by biggest concern was reports of emissions failures when we hit the dreaded 7 year mark but i believe late 2023 OTT solved that?

Makes all the sense in the world now. Commie emissions from Cali got adopted by commie Colorado. Sounds like a state issue and not a tuner issue.

Good question. I hadn’t thought to ask since mine is a 2018 and I’ve not yet had to pass emissions. I’ll ask the tuner and se what he says.
