Do you hate the 7 beeps every time you close your door? I have an easy fix.

I hated the multiple very loud beeps that occurred every single time I closed any door with keys in my pocket. It's also not something that can be turned down/off with Techstream. So... I began hunting. I didn't want to completely rip it out as it's hard-wired, and wasn't sure if there were any repercussions in doing so.

Found the little guy, and made a 10 cent mod on it. Works like a charm! The beeper is located on the driver's side just below the headlight. I put a few pieces of tape over the beeper, and while it is still audible... Its volume is reduced by probably 90%. Hope it helps!

Wait, your car beeps when doors are closed?

I like this. The beeps are a little excessively loud. I do like the reminder that the truck is still on though (ignition at least) when I shut the door. But lowering the volume is convenient.

With that said, I highly despise GM's version where the horn has like 3 quick honks. Especially when you're in line getting gas at a big place like costco and there's 14 other black and white Tahoes all doing it.

My wife's Pilot does this, drives me nuts every time. Guess I'll be hunting for a silly little speaker under the hood this weekend.

Yeah... A LOT. With my keys in my pocket anyway.
Oh yeah... The triple honk that GM and Ford do might be worse yet.
Yeah go get it! Very much worth doing IMO.

The 7 beeps specifically is also when I step out with the engine running. We probably share the same beep patterns. When it really gets under my skin is when I am loading or unloading the truck. Lots of open/close events with the engine on. In the winter for example when I am trying to warm up, or when I am at a campsite unloading before I move the rig into a more permanent position.

Not sure if it's only American spec. But it's with the Tundra's that have remote keyless entry with push button start. Any time the engine is on or the ignition is on/ACC mode, and you keys exit the vehicle, once the door shuts, the beeping happens.

Mine is a '21 so has push button, so if my engine is running, and I get out, it'll beep saying key left the car, but will not beep again if I open any other doors, and will not beep if I open driver's door again.

Neither my '16 nor my '21 has ever had a seven-beep demon. Must be a higher trim level thing.

I have silenced every beep in both my trucks except for the one that goes off when you are driving with an open door.
