guys i was one of the guys who didnt want to drive the V6 cause i loved the power and sound. till i drove the TRD PRO with the I Force Max and i was just a little bit excited about how it drove. i was going to buy the GMC AT4X with the diesel for the power and the MPG. when i saw back in 2023 the 1794 Limited Edition i wanted this truck but thought i would never have it cause only 1500 being made. i got number 716 and i LOVE this truck and this POWER. im not missing the V8 at all and im very happy and blessed to have this truck. miss my 2015 but this 2024 is killing it..........

I love my stage 1 low pressure 5 cylinder turbo Volvo that drives, handles and brakes like an ole good turbo brick.

I keep V8 for reliability. If it dies, I'll pinch myself and wake up.

Got another 20 years left in ya'..
Hope you avoided the market adjustment, but I'm glad you got what you wanted..:D

    I had a 2024 Platinum loaner for a week.
The piped-in engine noise was no match for my BAM exhaust.
But I can now appreciate more why so many like the Gen 3s..

Dude you’re like a broken record on this shit. Pretty hard to take you seriously.

We get it, you don’t like the 3rd Gen, move on with your fucking life. Your shitty attitude is at this point reeking of jealousy because you secretly know you should have waited for the new Tundra.

If the 5.7 had stayed with a slight bump in Power I'd very likely be in a Tundra. But I wanted a new truck and once it went away as far as I was concerned, the one advantage that would have kept me in the Toyota family another 10-20 years was gone. I don't think the Gen3 is a bad truck. But my 13 year experience with that specific powertrain is what made the platform stand out for me. I might have accepted the smaller interior and transmission hump and lack of flat rear load floor and quirky infotainment system if there was just a small evolution of the 5.7 6 speed.

I held my 09 a few extra years beyond what I planned for waiting for the redesign and felt let down by the comparative lack of energy that went into this package compared to the Tacoma. But I also understand why it played out like that.

My Ford has not been perfect but has not left me stranded and is a hoot to drive.
    *edit*
Scratch that, full disclosure, it went down once for 15 days because the dealer messed up something in the software that caused electrical problems. The truck went down as the result of recall work, not on its own.

I wish everyone in a Gen3 Tundra best of luck too. Coyote V8 probably gonna be dead in the next full F150 redesign. I don't know how long Chevy's will survive, I was told it might make the next generation. I'd imagine in about 10 years for better or worse V8s of any kind will be 2500 and up.

The world is changing, technology is evolving. I was a ride or die V8 guy going into this latest purchase but came out of it with a hybrid. Am now waiting to review the track record of the 2025 and up Ramcharger platform to decide what I want to do around or a bit after 2030.

The death of the V8 is like mourning everything else. It was very tough in the beginning, living with it gets easier over time.

will do I just put 1000 on it and I just don't want to get out of it. I'll be curious to see what the seats will look like in 6 months and a year. I do know the back seat will be great not too many people in the back

Nope! People buying into the current pricing is not all great. If nobody would purchase at these ridiculous costs, the costs would come down. I will not ever pay over 50k for a new factory 1/2 ton truck!

Just saw my local dealer showing 3.99% financing for new Tundras now. BZ4X 0% and some models (4Runner, etc.) 4.75%, everything else higher than that. There must be a build up of Tundras on lots now. BZ4X almost no one wants vs. competition at MSRP so that makes sense. Obviously other makes are having a much harder time selling, but the slow down seems to have hit Tundras now, means you can start to get some nice discounts down the road.

I was looking at the GMC. AT4X with the diesel and that truck decked out is 92K. Prices are coming down it’s all due to Covid and supply and demand. The dealership got use to charging 20% over msrp cause people wanted cars. Now some are still stuck with that thinking and they are losing. The Ram classic work truck is around 40K. If you like Ram

My local dealer has more Tundras in stock than anything else.

Pretty tough sell when almost every 1/2 ton pickup on the lot is $60K+ at whatever current interest rates are.

Fact is the median household income in Rapid City, SD is just over $58,000/year, and the average is $81,000/year. So how in the hell are these people able to afford new vehicles, pay a mortgage, save for retirement etc? The answer is they can’t.

Reality is finally setting in. Affordable Toyota models are unobtainium right now, and all the $50K+ stuff is going to start piling up.

Add in the fact that the new 3rd Gen is not a good value (none of the current 1/2 tons are) and Toyota isn’t going to have much choice but throw incentives at Tundras. Hell they have had an orangutan shit burnt orange TRD Pro on the lot for well over a month. It’s hideous and priced at $75K, seriously Toyota? That truck is not that special, and it is painted a color no one wants.
