Can confirm. Wouldn't work with USB3 thumbdrive (identifiable by blue connector). Switched to USB2 TD, and it detected it immediately. Even with other files/folders on the TD (MP3s)

I'm with bfunke. How do you update the Gracenote database file?

Has anyone tried this on a 2015? I know the Update is for 2016-2019, but my HU from my 2015 randomly reboots sometimes as well.

Having issues when I’m listening music connected to mi iPhone and using Pandora or Spotify, and it suddenly music is interrupted, every time more frequently since last few months, so almost couldn’t listen music anymore. Also signal dropped off and streaming was always erratic causing frequently interruptions of music.
Finally did the firmware update yesterday, and now for the first time -since long ago- I can listen a song without “cuts”… After the update, not single time that streaming was drop/interrupted. Great. Thanks!

Great info! I am tempted to flash the update, but my 2016 HU has never exhibited any issues. So I'm gonna stick with the old technician motto, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Thank you so much! This worked on my 2018 Platinum. Fingers crossed my bluetooth disconnects don't return. So far so good!

Might be a stupid question but I’m trying to update my 2019 highlander. The Toyota site has no firmware available in their drop-down for this model. Searching for the model id (13TDANNA-DA21) brings me to a bunch of Tundra forums. Would I be able to use the v165 firmware listed or will I have issues?

I believe I actually found the answer to my question. Haven’t been able to actually find a copy of the kwi file for any 2019 vehicles except in this forum, but the Toyota documentation implies that it is ok to install.

Anyone run into a situation where you plug in the USB and the radio says it sees new software, it recognizes the new version (and I have verified it's newer than what's currently running), and then you hit update and it starts for a second and then it says no new software found or media not plugged in? Is there a separate USB port somewhere I'm not aware of?

Without the knowledge and help from this forum I doubt I would have ever found out why my 2019 Platinum suddenly started the shut down and reboot of the radio.
Applied the software update listed by the OP and there are now things working on my radio that never worked properly in the last 4 years.
Thank you all for this information.

NTSB Website now showing these versions as current. Anyone know where to find them?

For my truck, this says 0127 is the latest.

The website says it will update it to 0106E but the software download is 0110.

    This has 0127.
