I have a '97 BMW with numerous vacuum lines hidden under the intake, it took a week of fiddling with a smoke machine to find all the leaks. It was under 80 bucks & worth every cent.

It's on sale right now for 70.

i looked at that one - and, did buy a smoke leak detector… but, it really didn’t help. I found all the leaks so far with just the pressure test, my ear and soapy water.

prior to that i was using brake cleaner & propane. But, my leaks have only been apparent with the pressure testing.

Just ordered to track down the elusive "small evap leak" on the JK I've been dealing with for years.

Well I've done 50 miles so far with the 95mm throttle body with zero issues. Neighborhood, stop lights, interstate, drive throughs, launch from a stop, etc. I still can't tell it's there besides the intake noise being slightly different.

I'll get a few more miles and some longer trips on it, and then build out this second prototype. Right now I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, there are zero downsides and zero upsides so far :D I'm hoping one of the guys making big power can get an apples to apples comparison of the second 95mm versus a stock unit, because it's either a total useless upgrade or my truck just doesn't make enough power to see any benefit from it--which also gives some idea of if a RCF TB or porting a TB is of any use, since this absolutely dwarfs those options.

Richard holdner and his blower data would say otherwise on having a larger TB/intake. Bigger is always better. We're ready for these when you're ready!!

If you want I can run it 4.5 inch intake and maybe send it off to @armyoffoo to see what it can do. I believe porting the RCF can only go to 86mm safely.
Oh yeah, @reywcms too withvthe 5 inch intake...

I do wonder if the intake or the snout is the limiting factor, you have to figure I have a completely stock (besides the pulley) Magnuson 1900, I don't even have the extra holes drilled in the intake box. I think I'll end up porting the snout and making an intake box (few people have asked for that too) just to see if I notice any gains. But I think for your average person looking for a cost effective way to get more juice out of the blower, the TB isn't going to make a difference. It's one of those modifications that's pretty far down the priority list after a pulley, larger intake, etc.

I'm still thinking I'll send it to you, with you already having a 95mm and making a ton of power that gives a lot of extra data points, plus we know you're open to tweaking things and blowing stuff up :p

I wouldn't doubt that the box and snout are limiting factors. Make a new box let's do that lol

Hell all I have is a catback exhaust too, so when it comes to flow improving mods I've done nothing but now have a huge throttle body and that's it hahaha

Nothing conclusive, I haven't seen the truck make the full 8psi, but that's not unusual. I would expect the psi would go up if there was less restriction since it's a change pre-blower?

I had several more runs, got a new phone, this is all that transferred. I think my best was 8. It's a pushing the button & taking off thing.

I timed my truck 0-60 the other day and the results were very disappointing. Apparently being super heavy and at high elevation is bad for performance. :frusty:

What button you talking about? The reset button on dragy? You don't need to reset then launch, the dragy only starts once you start moving. Regardless of reset or not. Reset just clears the screen basically. At least thats how mines been working.

I also think I need to ditch the 400 cell cat converters and go back to some new 200 cell. I was passing a car on the highway and thought I saw my psi gauge hit 16psi. It was in the red as I have it setup on my older AEM failsafe.
Will have to keep an eye on it!
I think I set it up at 14psi to how red led shows on the dial, will double check...

I'm lucky that my go to exhaust guy takes the time and do it right with v-bands, so the new exhaust has v-bands throughout.

I might be mistaken but I thought the expectation is the inlet PSI drops when up sizing but only if the TB is the restriction; so if the rest of the intake is smaller than TB nothing will be gained. Not sure where PS was referencing Boost PSI in their experiments.

Here’s what you’re referencing. They’re referring to the inlet side as “negative psi” in regards to the restriction which is a goofy unit and would be better understood as Inches of Mercury vacuum. The more vacuum there is the more of a restriction it is in the intake side. Like Rey said, less restriction on the intake = more boost and less restriction on the exhaust = less boost.

You mean it had more power with 2 1/4”? I could see it dropping low end torque with 3” but picking power back up in mid to high end. Im sure it’s probably easier to notice the low end torque loss vs observing the high end power gain when driving on the street especially.

I tap the shit out of the reset button before launching. Applying brakes and then throttle to load it up seems to move the truck enough to trigger the Draggy I've found, so tapping reset repeatedly to make sure it doesn't premature go until right before I let off the brake solves that.
