I'm thinking Amazon is wrong cause I think people have installed them on '18's.? And they are working fine. Quite honesty I don't think tundras have changed their headlights much lately.

I need to order these - I have had a couple people tell me that they could not see the signal. one guy was pissed about it - I live in MA where 90% never signal, so not sure why he was so mad. (although... I am one of those people that get pissed when the other driver does not signal)

You could always just buy hem and say " look darling, all these folks are having trouble with people seeing their turn signals in their trucks so I ordered these really kewl bright ones so you would be safe" then after getting your azz kicked have some make up woopie and go drink a beer.:hattip:

Anybody else have any feedback on VLEDS or JDM Astar if DRL still work after swapping out the stock with these? Is keeping DRL functioning with aftermarket LED bulbs even a concern?

When you say they can't see your turn signals are you talking about at night when the headlights are on?

Are these brighter only when flashing? I have the OEM 18's added to my '16 but I chose to go with the orange daytime option lit up as well. I don't want those brighter than they are but am OK with the turn signal part being brighter. I'm assuming it would all be brighter?

Correct, people couldn't see them at night when LED headlights are on.

As for DRL...On my 18 OEM headlights, only the white strip (around the headlamp housing) and small amber side marker turns on in DRL mode. Amber turn signal bulbs were never on (with stock bulbs).

Correct. That is how the factory 18's are.

When you opt to retro any 18's on a prior 18 you can splice into the daytime running lights on the old setup and have the orange light up as well. This is how mine look. I don't want the orange to over do the white, just blend in. It sounds like it would be too bright for my setup.

I've noticed several people lately haven't been responding to my turn signals. Let's see what works here. I definitely want plug and play...

it seems the 18+ trucks use the low wattage part of the bulb for the blinker? i retrofitted my 17 with amber DTRL with the 18 LED headlights. i like the amber DTRL, so kept them. the harness i made keeps the amber high wattage DTRL and blinker. i have no issues with the blinkers on my truck.

i bet a simple fix would be to flip the hi/low wires to the bulb. i woudl think that would then illuminate the 21w portion of the bulb, rather than the 5w portion, on signal?

I'm actually surprised the DRL don't turn off or dim when the turn signal is activated like you see on other models/brands.

I see other vehicles with this function and I don't care for it. I know it probably serves a purpose but it looks funny.

Agreed, but I notice how dim they were soon after buying and thought it should at least dim when the headlights weren't on. I have the JDM ASTAR's coming in the next day or so.

Anyone consider sequential led strips just under the front of the fenders wrap towards the side following the body line?

Holy smokes they are bright. Huge difference. Anyone try them in the rear of a 2018 and not need resistors?

They are so bright I can actually see yellow bouncing off walls and stuff when my headlights, DRL, and fog lights are on.

I just checked my front turns out, they are plenty bright for another driver to see with the headlights on........2018 SR5. My bulb location isnt on the inside lower like the picture above though, its on the inside upper. I can see how a turn signal that close to the LED DRL could be indistinguishable.

20 smackers, you can't beat it. Hopefully they are somewhat quality product and get some life out of them. For how much they will get used, should be fine.

I notice that too at night, very bright, probably because the area was meant for amber halogens and the light is bouncing all over the place in there. I’m not sure they’re that much brighter in full daylight but you can see the scatter.

    24AAAB99-56B5-4168-B306-B9ED323C1746.jpg

Visibility was the reason I undid my modded 3 amber marker lights in the hood. When I signal, it’s the only amber light on in the front.

From the back I have no issue because these long Putco lights go half amber on turns.

Wondering if these will work for my 2019 TRD Sport. If so, I'll order them today. Amazon says the bulbs will not work on my truck. :(
