Hey guys I’m in the process of redoing my whole suspension front and back and looking for some new leaf springs that would give me 1.5-2” lift and support extra weight of camper build out in the back of my truck. I already have a topper on it. I’ve seen the archive garage and seems like a good option but not really budget friendly. Anyone know of any of companies that would make upgraded leafs for these trucks? Oh my truck is a 05 DC 4wd if that matters. Thanks

I also have the ATS HD leaf springs and am a big fan. Fiberglass shell and sleeping platform in the back, so probably close to 300+lbs all the time. The HD springs keep me lifted around 1-1.5" all the time, probably 2" when unloaded. Ride quality is more firm but in a good way, I always like a slightly more firm ride.

Perfect thank you! Do you have a lift in the front I’m going to be a 2” lift in the front and wondering if I’ll still have some rake or if it will be closer to level? I prefer a little rake

I had a slight lift, hard to say exactly how much. I had V8 TRD 4WD coil springs on my V6 2WD, so probably like an inch lifted in front? With some rake. 2" will probably put it right at level.

Edit: Also forgot to mention, the only time when the leafs are too firm is going over speed bumps, they can be pretty jarring if you don't slow down. Otherwise when driving, they ride great. YMMV

I echo that feedback. I had a 2 lift up front and had about half inch rake still.

Holy cow! I just saw you're selling that rust-free V6 5sp '03 access cab over in the marketplace for $11k! Someone who loves 2WD is gonna be a happy camper at that price point :D

Never thought I’d actually be selling it, but my need/desire for 4WD got too great.
Just out of curiosity, do you say that because $11k is less than you would expect? I definitely struggled to know how to price it adequately.
Edit: and thank you for the kind words sir!

If your one a budget, nothing beats Air Lifte, air bags.

It's the way I went. Didn't need a lift, but often haul at max bed capacity and my old springs where sagging bad when loaded, coupled with what I've heard was a soft suspension from day one.

The bags are great, I can fill them up just when needed, and enjoy the caddy like suspension the rest of the time.

    Cost me less than $300

Honestly? If it was here in GA, I'd bitch and complain. In CA, knowing it's rust-free, pricing seems normal to me. I'd hang with it and see what happens. I'd expect $9k if I was selling here. Maybe $8k. I have a thing for manual trans tho.

I also have a 05' 4WD DC and just plopped down on the ATS HD setup for mine as well. Snugtop canopy lives on mine 100% and I'm hoping for about 1" lift. Had no hesitation after talking with them on the phone, received the leaves 4 days after ordering and and build quality looks really nice.

Won't have time for install for another 1-2 weeks but I'll post up what I get out of them once I get everything installed. I'm going from stock with roadmaster active to these and am crossing fingers ride quality doesn't drop (although my new bilsteins will likely do more toward that anyhow).

Nice I’ll be doing a similar setup I’m going with Bilsteins 5160 for the rear and 6112’s for the front set for a 2” lift. I have an ARE topper and will have a camping build out in the rear

Well I'll let you know how it goes once I get it all installed myself - I've got the 6112's setup today on 5-drivers side and 3-passenger. Shooting for about 1.5" all settled up front.

Had a half a day clear up, installed rear setup. Happy so far considering I’m at 3/8 tank and have a weight bed on right side with 150lbs.

how are the ATS leafs riding? considering getting these instead of airbags. i have a 350lbs camper and extra weight in the bed so probably a constant 500lbs. would this get me a 2in lift? Already have 2in lift up front.

3 years in and they are still great.

I got 1.5 lift with a camper shell and random junk in the back. I'd install the ATS springs first and see how much lift you get, then you can always add a small lift block if needed or another overload spring. Or even another leaf from an old leaf pack.

I thought I would want more lift, but the ATS don't sag when I fully load up for a camping trip so I was good with the 1.5 lift.

3 months ago I added ATS heavy duty leaf springs (BT90221) to my '06. So far I'm very pleased. Better support back there, rides smooth and tight, and looks better, lifted the rear maybe 1.5" to very slight rake. Truck has Bilstein 5100s all around and 884 OME springs up front.

Sorry it took a couple days, here are pics as it sits today after ATS heavy duty spring install. I don't haul much weight other than the topper. I added about 300 lbs for a 4-day drive and it didn't appear to phase the height or ride.

Truck is looking awesome! And same experience here, we basically have the same cap. I think even the same color cap on our white ACs.

Assuming their Tundra spring is the equivalent of their Tacoma spring, I can say they've been great for me. I've had them on my Tacoma for about 5 years. For me, they were a reasonable OEM replacement with a bit more lift and capacity than OEM. I have a ~200lb topper, usually some tools and other stuff in the back, and I regularly tow. They seem to be holding up. They did give me 1-1.5" of lift. They still flatten when I hook up my trailer with about 300lb tongue weight. So I also have airbags. I can't say how much stronger the Tundra version is. I have yet to hook up the trailer to my Tundra to see how much heavier duty the stock Tundra springs are compared to the Tacoma. Till that day (which will be soon), I'm not thinking about a leaf upgrade. But it's in the back of my mind...Tundra is still 22 years old with 225,000 miles. Leafs will need to be replaced eventually. I won't hesitate to buy General Springs again when that time comes.

Now if you're looking for "performance" leaf springs, I don't think the General Springs are it. They're a quality spring for people on a budget who either don't need or aren't willing to go performance. But, for what it's worth, I've taken my truck down some crazy desert roads and I have no complaints. Only thing I have to compare it to is OEM, but I have no complaints. I doubt you'd be happy with them for a "crawler", but for typical truck use, like hauling, towing, driving around town, getting out camping and hiking in areas that sometimes require driving crazy roads, they've been good for me.
