Aguirre, The Wrath of God. Freevee. Very loosely based on Don Lope de Aguirre, a Spanish conquistador nicknamed El Loco (the Madman). He is known for his failed expedition down the Amazon River looking for El Dorado, the famed, mythical, city of gold. The film is largely non-historical. So-so acting but great cinematography.

Freaks (1932). Tubi. I can see the controversy this film created when it came out. It was recut down to 64 minutes after it premiere of 90 some minutes. The extra footage is considered lost. The film premiered at Fox Theatre in San Diego. That venue is now Copley Symphony Hall, home of San Diego Symphony.

Trinity is Still My Name (1971). Tubi. A Spaghetti Western followup to My Name is Trinity. They are unconventional comedy westerns, the first one being my favorite of the two.

Mr In-Between (2001). Amazon Prime. Damn, what a disturbing ending. I got teary-eye there, for Jon. I wished the ending was more like Nobody. Well worth the 99 cents I paid on Prime.

Nanook of the North (1922). Max. Re-watched the classic documentary. In the first class of films inducted into the US National Film Registry in 1989.

The Witch (2015). Max. Meh, nothing exciting nor innovation added to the witch story. Acting was good, story was boring.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Peacock. Completed S7, on to last season.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962). Tubi. Catching up on some classics. Cant believe I waited this long to watch it. The children were great; the little girl was an Oscar nominee.

On the Waterfront. Plex. Good acting but story, and movie, was boring for an 8-academy award winner.

The Shawshank Redemption. AMC. A Rewatch. When you’re this good, you don't get an Oscar.

Rear Window (1954). Prime ($3.59). A ‘fun’ Hitchcock movie. Winner of no Oscars, where the lesser-film On the Waterfront did a sweep.

Seems like this has always been the case. Great movie Rear Window. Great American Gen Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly, how can you go wrong.

The 39 Steps (1935). Max. An early Hitchcock movie and one of his favorites. Said to have created a new cinematic genre, the psychological spy thriller. To me the movie has that old movie feel to it, but it moves along well.

I didn’t know thats where that saying came from. It was a good ending. I am generally not a fan of the gangster/mafia/mob sub genre. Certainly there are many exceptions (i.e Tarantino flicks).
