Can anyone plug in their OBDII diagnostic tool and tell me what their Absolute Throttle Position is set at? For a V8, 4WD, AC.

The Haynes manual states that it should be set between 14.4% and 16%. Just wanted to know what others' are set at who are having zero issues.

    Thank you!

What about when the truck is off but the ignition is in the ON position?

I realize that 18.8% is outside of what the Haynes says, but the truck purrs like a kitten, and as far as I know, it's never been adjusted. It seems like it would make more sense to adjust at idle? Or, perhaps I need to re-adjust mine? Maybe someone with more knowledge on this will chime in.

    Appreciate you checking that!

I wonder if the Haynes manual is incorrect, cause if yours is at 18.8% and is running fine, why set it between 14.4 and 16 like the manual states.

I adjusted mine down from 16.1% to 15.2% a few days ago and am now wondering if I should bump it up beyond 16.1%.

Common sense says that a larger % open without the engine running would make sense. Needs more air initially for start. After the engine starts, it drops the % of air entering the intake to avoid a rich condition. If it is initially set at a lower %, after the engine fires it will create a lean condition it an almost 4% reduction holds true. That would explain why it is running poorly. IDK. Just spit-balling here.

You also have a cable actuated throttle body IIRC. Could be way different for the electronically controlled TB. In fact, I'm not even sure I have adjustment. Yes. Confirmed. This is only applicable for a 2000-2002. The manual states that on 2003 and later models, the TP sensor is NOT removable or adjustable.

Ah, that's a good catch. Anybody have a 2000-2002 that would be willing to check?

Also, I still believe that the 2000-2002 are drive by wire, except they use the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor and cable to serve as a backup.
