I read that makeup brushes are effective. The room where I store mine has basically no dust, so I haven't had to do much cleaning.

    Thanks!

My personal favorite is still the Saturn V.

My boys, who have a ton of legos, use carpet scraps to dust over them. It works amazingly well...it was a tip from some YTuber they follow.

I'm a yuge fan of Formula Ugh and the release of the larger scale Lego F1 cars seems to land around my birthday, so the amazing Mrs. PolishedTRD got me the McLaren in 2022 and this year surprised me with the Mercedes! Pretty stoked for this build!

Picked up one of these newly released this month. It has really impressive detail for the scale. I've started to like what Lego has done with mico scale sets. I'll post a build pic or two.

It's built! Pretty fun build...not the best ever. There were small stacks of studs deep inside that represented different characters. Luke, Han, Leia, c3po, chewy. Pretty fun little surprise.

Just finished building the Lego f1 Mercedes set. Extremely detailed and well built. It’s big. And fun. Wife gave it to me for an early birthday present!

Took a break from the Titanic and built a set I found second hand sealed-ish. It took me back to being a kid playing with a pirate ship set in the early 90s.

    Pirates of Barracuda Bay.
    PXL_20240405_022214471.jpg

I really just wanted it for the ship so I pulled that build on its own. The set has instructions to do just that.

    5e094719-dcaf-417c-9bd6-edb2345ed4e3.jpg

Then I did something I haven't ever done, I deviated from the instructions. I altered the interior such that I could put two cannons through the gunports. The interior of the ship is pretty well detailed, you just can't see it in its unwrecked state. It takes some tweeks to get the the cannons in.

For those that care: I flipped the "rum bar" and hull support that passes through it on the starboard side with the plain support on the port side. Moved the "serving bar" to the passage way in the center bulkhead. Moved one of the beds into the bow. Moved the desk to the port side where the bed was. This will give you enough room to put two cannons on the starboard side. Support the cannons with two brown 2x2 round bricks each robbed from the island.

My son and I have been building legos for awhile now, but usually I help him. I’m been buying him smaller (aka cheaper) sets and he told me the other day I wanna big set. So he decided he wanted to use his money on this

    IMG_2703.jpg

He told me I think I can build it in 2-3 days. Now mind you it’s over 1300 pieces and I’m normally building with him.

Well, to my suprise he only needed my help 3 times and it was only bc he had misplaced a brick by one spot, but it was enough to mess the build up until fixed. He was determined to finish it by day 3 since I was telling him there was no where he could finish it in 3 days!

    Low and behold he did!!

    IMG_3898.jpg

But of course now he wants more BIG Lego sets lol

I took it a step further and moved all the rum to the galley (safety first). Waiting on a brick link order with some additional cannons and some bricks to mount them. I'll show pictures when it's done.

I scored Boba fett and Vader helmets off some local classifieds new in boxes.

Here is my little star wars display. I have a few larger ships that are disassembled in bags as well. Space becomes a real issue with Lego sets.

    PXL_20240413_230336518.jpg

Edit: I'm not really a traditional star wars fan, (I mostly just like the Disney+ ones).....Vader is just another character to me....so I may flip that one when it retires.

Well it seems that word has spread through my family and friend group; I got the Viking village, the smaller r2d2, the small McLaren, and the smaller may the 4th Millenium falcon. I might be working on these for quite a few days…..and likely need more shelves

The pirate ship got some additional changes.
Crew is bunking in the bow now. All food and drink consolidated to the galley. I went all in on cannons through the mid section of the ship. 3 per side.

It seems like he's adding each time he puts down a number. So I'm guessing when you meet up to get it, it'll be $400

Mrs. Disregardo got me this for my birthday. 40” long. I did something really dumb and was looking for a more challenging and fulfilling build, so I decided to dump all 21 bags out. Bad idea. Next time with a bigger build, I'll probably do like 5 bags at a time. Took about a week to complete.

    Did @SnrDisregardo not know that??

No shame in building bag by bag.

I have been for the past 6 months and couldn't justify it space wise. But then my birthday came along and her job moved to right across from a Lego store and asked if that is what I wanted. She didn't even have to finish the sentence. I will be honest, it's a bit delicate during the building process and I feel the nose gear needs a bit more strength if you don't use the stand, but it was an interesting build and I'm glad I got it.
I think the BTTF DeLorean is still my most favorite build.
