Put front end on jack stands. Remove bothe wheels, remove break caliper, unbolt UCA from spindle, remove the 4 bolts holding the sway bar to the frame, replace the CO. Reinstall everything. Easy peezy. I have it down to a science and can do both CO in about 2 hours by myself.

Removed Max modular bed rack for two reasons 1, 18" risers are enroute to replace 14" 2, replaced retrax bed tracks. Old ones clamp mounts and rail mounts stripped flat no more bite left. Retrax replaced under warrentee. Had to remove from truck and dismantle to replace the rails. Yes this can be done by one person, not recommended but I did it... damn I am beat down. time for several beers. btw took this old dude 5 hours

Interesting Retrax has rebranded. guess they were bought out...17152726375755135187177269891933.jpg

I need 1/2" more space to roll the 37" tires under the rack crossbars to fit on the bed rail spare tire mount. I don't like fighting a 100+lb tire to get the right angle... I could deflate them but... I am lazy...

Awesome! Hadn't seen that method described before. Thank you! Unfortunately, my front skid blocks easy access to the bolts holding the sway bar to the frame. It was a PITA getting the sway bar link to line up attaching it back to the LCA, so I thought about loosening the frame bolts, looked at them and said, "No, grab a longer pry bar."

I may need to take the calipers off soon. Pads are wearing unevenly. Is it typical to have the outboard pad wear twice as fast as the inboard?

I dont have skid plate so 1 less step for me and they are kind of a pain. I did manage to break both the welded nuts on the sway bar end links and this is why i stick to the frame bolt method. They are known for coming off and also a pain to put back on.

As for the breaks, you have an issue. They should wear pretty even. Do a search for common issues with pad wear.

It's making a clunking noise when the wheel is turned to the left, and also when hitting bumps. If feels like something is loose. Its a 2020 with 18K miles.

Also now that I think about it, my FJ and my Tacoma (same front suspension as your 4Runner) clunked when turning left the whole time I owned them. Checked the entire front end aside from ripping out the steering and never chased it down. Aside from the noise everything functioned perfectly for 100k+ miles between the two rigs.

I was going to say yours looks different than mine, then I saw the branding you mentioned, I guess mine is older. The canister spot in the back by the cab is decently smaller on yours and your rails look different. Mines held up pretty well though, and remained fairly waterproof. Best cover I've owned I'd say.

mine is about 2 years old. the new rails have the new branding. the old branding was Retrax XR /Hero Truck.

The canister cover only covers the back half of the canister.

Had this on my truck a while ago. Clunks on turning, in reverse, with slight articulation (on driveway slope). Turned out to be loose LCA bolts.

setup auto payments from a funded account versus paying it off. basically reduced my interest rate by 1.5% and did not deplete my savings in the process.

    And then did truck stuff.

Tundra...so may or may not be helpful. Not sure if 4Runner's have LCA setup like Tundra.
