Leer 100R in silver outta Knoxville. Wildly high pricing though it looks to be in superb condition externally. Bascially the same cap I just got for my truck at $400 upload_2023-12-11_22-22-18.png

It’s not that the pricing is so wild, these things were over $2k new. They just don’t hold there value on the used market. Not sure why, but glad they are available on the cheap. That one may be mint with the good options on rear slider fold down and have lights and carpet liner. On a plane and it won’t load the listing though. I would have paid $1k if it was a color match for mine and perfect condition with a rack already installed.

    Definitely.

That one looks great, possibly repainted and Leer rear corner stickers never reapplied. Looks like it has sliders on the side and fold-out slider for the cabside window. But no shots of the inside, sadly.

The rack alone on my 2019 was $450 on sale. And I installed it myself.

Cheap, long bed cap outside of Denver.

I'd scoop either of the posted walkthrough back door caps if they were within a tank of gas of home. They look sweet.

Yup, looking at 450-$550 to replace with a new rear window assembly. You likely won't find a place that'll knock out tempered glass in that shape.

Black access cab cap in Asheville NC for $500, looks to be in great shape, good paint, side sliders - I forget what the brand is (Century? CTC / Century Truck Caps?), but I've seen two of them in person and they're solid quality:

It hit me today just how many of us first gen owners have a topper. It seems more popular with first gen owners than later gens...?

Coming from an s10 blazer & jeep xj, i tried going back to tent camping, but it wasnt to be. Especially if you're only stopping in places for one night.

I probably never would have looked for one. If mine hadn't come with it I'd probably think it was a dumb idea but now I'll probably never take it off.

I dunno, my dad has a 2.5 gen and is topper'd. In the background here, behind our "then-new" Highlander. I see Tundra'd later gens pretty commonly. I don't see many more 1GT with shells here in ATL. Tons upon tons with headache racks and similar.

If camping weren't so important to sustain my off-roading activities, I would never bother with a shell. But there is something nice about em that I've come around to, whether it's the potential to be self sufficient or just to keep your gear out of sight and dry. You don't even have to strap everything down.

Grandma's ex neighbors daughter from new mexico is staying in her guest room (long story, but picking up some furniture & keepsakes the neighbor couldnt fit in her retirement home apartment), so polo & i are camping in the truck instead of sleeping on the couch. Because them old women wont turn the heater off.

sucks the pole light doesnt turn off, but its nice out here with a pair of sleeping bags & low of 49*

Lesbian retired sheriff deputy in her 60's, but she's a badass. Shes the one that bought that pop-up trailer out from under me while i was at t2s & trying to get details over the phone.

Anyway, my big orange space heater worked like a champ. When i get home i'm gonna get this cap insulated. Might throw some insulation between the bed & bedliner, too.

Even for Cali markup that's absurd. It's not even one of Leer's newer, better models for our trucks. Fitment looks like ass also. I would be hard pressed to pay more than $600 for it, unless it was perfectly paint matches to your truck. Something just looks ... "off" about that fitment though. Maybe it's because they installed it with the OEM bed rails on, makes it look like it hangs long in the back and comes up short in the front (last pic). But it also doesn't look wide enough toward the cab on the driver's side (2nd pic) which is also really weird.

Snugtops are spendy, that's absurdly low. But I don't think the dude has the right measurements or right cab type?

    He's saying 88.5 x 78 and measures for 1GT are ballpart 66-68" wide, maybe that 88.5 is a typo (68.5?). Here's the dims list from 1st page:
    • Double cab (67x75 or 68x76)
    • Access cab (67x77 or 68x78)
    • Regular cab (67x100 or 68x101)
