I get that, humidity sucks. While we aren't at 80%, our monsoon is trying to get going so the humidity is up there + it's 111 out. I can tell big time cause the swamp cooler on my garage isn't doing a damn thing other than being a fan right now. Evaporative coolers don't work when it's humid.

I’m surprised your willing to cut lawn in this weather. That’s like a pre-dawn or post-dusk activity to keep the heat down.

edit: Maybe just a pre-dawn. I forgot about those skeeters you guys down South get.

When I lived in Florida I would only cut my grass right before it got dark. I don't miss living there.

Lived there for 13 years, moved to the foothills almost 6 years ago to take care of my dad before he passed. Can’t afford to move back to Truckee or the basin since covid brought all the people and money from the Bay Area. I’m an hour away but visiting up there seems like a completely different place. Far from the “small” ski town it once was. Given up and will be leaving state once I finish 2 years of school for my A&P mechanic certs.

I feel this. I hate what's happened. Feels like my hopes of living in the Western US one day are quickly dying. I can't believe how hard it has become to move. I think I'm stuck here which isn't a bad thing now but makes me wonder what the future will be like.

From what you’ve told me, you’re in a great area and set for a while. With all the personal bullshit Ive been through recently, my sis in GA is begging me to move out there. Keeps mentioning that I’ll like Chattanooga. Not out of the question at this point. :notsure:

You likely would. Some coworkers just moved there from AZ and they love it. The main thing that I wish we had was more public land. It's not like the West. Where I ride my dirt bike is private land. I pay ~$100 year to ride there. There is still a ton of great nature but it would be an adjustment from what you're used to.

I couldn’t do AZ but I haven’t ruled out TN. Oregon has some rural parts and heaps of affordable property really. River is a decent substitute for beaches. Way less crowded and no salt in the water.

God damn, what a muggy son of a bitch it is tonight

Finally making some headway on this bitch! Once I finally have it inspected, it's off to the market with you. If any of yall want it, I'd gladly sell it to yall for a discount.

reverse lights below. I need a new bulb and two new lenses currently. Going to replace all 4 bulbs since I'll be in there again.

I removed the non-functional LED tail lights that someone put on with a 4 flat connector. I have no idea why someone in the past completely removed the 7 flat connector because all this shit works. Except maybe the brakes because I don't have a way to test that

Unless you did absolutely 0 studying I'm not sure how you fail that Universal EPA test.

I took the practice test a handful of times in 2 days and passed with a 95%.

It's not too bad around 5pm-6pm.

I'm just looking forward to going underwater. But need my FIL to cash out on his place in MIA first.

NGL, I never thought I'd live here, but GA is pretty solid. We got a long ass spring this year, and summer is clearly trying to catch up, but generally 4 seasons with little to no snow, only Tornadoes in certain sections, and a good variety of terrain across the state. Cost of living seems great when I see how my dollar spends elsewhere (we travel a lot). But once the kids are out, I think the outskirts of Chattanooga may be in our future, or maybe Western NC. Some others here in GA (abcinv) are actively working to get up there (near Chatt) also. It's just beautiful, but without feeling overly podunk.

Only thing is, GA, can't stress enough around ATL ways, shit gets hairy up I-75 and I-85 once you get north of the I-285 ring ("perimeter") until you get out north of the big lakes. Anderson SC is another slow college town that may be worth looking into.

If you knew what wholesalers get it for you'd think you were in the wrong biz. One of my local bottle shops will regularly get boxes in and sells to customers in their rewards program for $49, limited to 1 per account. It's actually pretty damn good, but I'd still rather Turkey because I guess I'm dirty southern swine.

Does it still taste good to dogs? I thought I heard they changed that to help prevent them from drinking it. Mom had a dog poisoned that way.

Back in the day coolant was ethylene glycol aka ethane-diol. As it aged it would oxidize into a di-acid which would corrode radiators and engine parts. Not sure about the modern phosphated organic acid coolants
