Set a record for time wasted as far as online ordering. Had to call for a price match which was a 50 minute wait. Next, it was a 45 minute dilemma getting a $10 gift card approved so all I had to pay was $5.

Item ordered: two 10 mm, 1/2" drive, 6 pt Tekton impact sockets (deep & standard). Was it specifically the 10 mm socket that was causing my delay? One will never know.

Hey, fellas, I could use some help. We're finally replacing Hulk's headlights. Removed one of the originals and, although the connection was tight and no problems, EEEUUUUUWW!!
    What *IS* this???

    IMG_6334.jpg

I know the outside is mud and slime, but is the yuck inside some type of weather protectant? And... really, I don't much care; it's yucky and I'm not excited to plug new LED headlamps into this. Anyone know, can I get a replacement at Auto Zone that I can install without buying specialty pin tools I don't have?

I love my Toyota parts guy but, of course I waited until Sunday, and that's closed. Please guide me if you can. Thanks.

Yeah it looks gross but it's fairly normal. My headlight connectors are packed full of it too.

Ok, then. If it's just "ick" factour, there'd be no problem plugging the new into the old, as is-? The connection was really secure.

Be warned that if you buy a new OEM connector, you have to buy the wires separately that plug into it and then splice them into the existing wire harness. Either that or buy a generic one that has the wires hanging off of it. Been there done that when one of my connectors burnt out. I recall there not being enough slack to use the wire from the existing harness after the old connector was cut off.

No problems, as noted. Serious ick though.

I cut mine off and swapped to 090II 3 position connectors. Then I ran to a set of 4 relays and back out after hacking up a harness I bought. Because the H4 females are tricky to source in premium quality and crimping them isn’t particularly fun. To me, most of the value of buying a harness vs building myself is those H4 females.

If you’re converting to LED, I’d personally cut and crimp some other style of sealed connector since the H4 is only useful for connecting to halogen bulbs. It’s not sealed and it’s not a particularly good design. Deutsch could work.

Iirc when Beau got us all to eat an atomic peanut or whatever at Panhandlemonium, he made us wait 10 minutes before we could drink anything. Iirc we made it and then we all said hell no to the next level spicy nut. Beau ate like 5 levels of spicy nuts

Yeah, definitely not a natural flavor. They could've just used reapers and made it hot naturally. I beleive it's 2,000,000 Scoville, same as the reapers.

Her boy got the rona, so she had to stay with him. :(

    Pansies. :D

I had a really solid tolerance for quite a while. I knew someone in KY who grew ultrahots, including legit reapers (a lot of reapers out there aren't pure), 7pots, scorpions, fataliis, jolokia, and about half a dozen others, he'd send care packages with dried pods and and ultrahot fruit leather. We'd take turns at work making weekly chili with various pods throughout the year, one pot got 4 complete reaper pods and I think that was the only time I was, like, "I think I'll take a blob of sour cream and handful of cheese in this one

I don't have nearly the tolerance I had, but I typically find myself disappointed by foods marked "spicy", and I can plow through half a bag of Paqui Haunted chips without tapping out, and enjoy the 15-20 minutes of burn that follows. (Those are good, good flavor, good heat, but too much heat for mot folks I know)

Thanks for the responses, guys! I'd figured it was dialectic gunk but wasn't sure whether that needed to be cleaned out to check for oxidation or whatever. Also, it hurt my tender sensibilities to plug something new into that. But, once y'all reassure me, I didn't clean them out (nothing on hand to replace it with), just plugged the new ones in.

Of course I failed to take a picture, but I'll get one up soon. Maybe a long-time-since-visited post to the What I Did thread.

You ever been to KY? It's probably 80% humidity.

It's 82 here in Knoxville with 80% humidity. We've had a thunderstorm every 48 hours the last week.

Overall though the summer has been really mild for us. Only a few days were unbearably humid.

Uhh you know you're talking to a Texan right?
We get like 100°F with just as much, if not more humidity where I'm at

Right now it's 101°F and heat index says it feels like 112°F. It's only 41% humidity today because we haven't had any rain in so long, there's burn bans in affect.

Yeah it’s like being in a dog’s mouth around here this past month or so. So dry this summer I took a picture last time it rained, like it was my first child taking its first steps or something….was July 1 lol

I assumed most of Texas was a dry heat. I guess Houston is basically Florida but with brisket?

A large part of Texas is in the Gulf stream that douses the south with warm moist air from the gulf of Mexico. Houston is the worst.
