Anacrime you say? I'm in the Long Beach area. If you can't get if figured out, holler at me in a private message. I can possibly come over to help you get that lower shock bolt in.

I just got a chance to see the news and holy wrath of God Batman. Georgia and the Carolinas literally are destroyed. I know we multiple members from those states, hopefully they are hanging in there

Nice Branick! I saw someone selling two brand new 7600s up around Illinois for $500/ea the other day. Wish dude would ship. I'd be all over it. MSRP is upwards of twice that.

    And welcome to the forum...

Stupid Q, but you did unhook the swaybar links before lifting the truck to do this work, right? If not, unhook them. Then, step down on the lower control arm and put some weight into it so it'll drop. The LCA will flex downward to an extent, and it should give you the oomhp you need, but not is the swaybar is holding things back.

Will do, need a bit. Heading out on a hike with the oldest. Will try to snap a pic on our way out.

It's more about the overall size. I'm not expecting it to do the zerks on the front driveline too easily, they're in weird ass places and hard to get to even with a straight, skinny tip. That lever on the lock-and-load is unweildy, wide, large.

When I did my front shock replacement (2000 AC) I made a mental note of how the lower mount was "clocked" in relation to the upper 3 mounting bolts, see picture.
I had one that lined up perfect, and the other maybe 3 degrees off, but easily twisted a little.
I think that's what you are saying, that you get the assembled strut in there and the lower mount is twisted, not aligned.
Definitely unhook your sway bar links like suggested as well. I would try to do it w/o loosening your cam-bolts.
But if you have to, mark where they are first, then make sure the truck is fully resting on them before tightening back up.

To this point, if it's just a matter of aligning the bottom, pop a long shank screwdriver in the mount hole of the shock and rotate. You can, to a degree, spin them. Not a huge problem for fine adjustments.

Yeah I just thought it would be cool I don’t have the means to do it anyways. I can’t find a better truck than the first gen and I would love to have a little more power, thinking that if my motor ever gives up I’d throw a 5.7 in there instead. I guess we’ll see after a million miles though haha.

But is it the power or the chassis that's limiting the 1GT's abilities to tow, in reality?

I wouldnt want to be loaded heavy on a steep downhill grade. Theres enough engine braking unloaded, but one of the valleys in my neighborhood is steep enough i still accelerate.

Anybody have experience with multi camera selector/ trigger setups for multiple cameras to one backup camera input?

    Something like this
    EBAY JUNK

Ready to pull the trigger on an Alpine ilx-w670, but it only has one camera input. I would like a rear camera mounted high on the camper, and a right side camera since Dale's fat head makes lane changes difficult at times.

Alpine makes one p/n KCX-C250MC but it looks like its not compatible with the H/U that I want.

I don’t tow very much I’m sure it’s a combination between the brakes and chassis a lot of people say these trucks tow great and are just slow. I just wanna go fast you know lol

I've towed 5500lbs & had no complaints. But it was a pretty flat trip, i'm observant, and ii had my dad following me since my trailer wasnt registered and the lights didnt work. Its been fixed, but i only had a days notice to find a trailer.

No. Well maybe. Gotta go slow, your worst enemy is the wind. Run backroads at 50mph, but not highways at 75mph.

Tundra made some bad noises today. I'm just hoping it wasn't in the trans. Have a vibration on deceleration and at partial throttle cruise now.

I wish grandpas taco had a downward pointing front camera. Big square nose makes things further than they appear. The last 3 seconds of parking are puckered hoping i dont bump a wall or car.

If you're looking for more oomph for towing or a bit more throttle response/performance then 12 hole injectors from dirty deeds and a re-gear would go a long way

I can't prove it on paper. Could be placebo.
But I can tell you on the 03 and the 06, my butt dyno says they woke up those old trucks a bit.

From what I've seen the dyno results are negligible. Guys report better throttle response and small bump in mileage, which makes sense with the better atomization. How many 12 hole guys had some clapped out 200k injectors before the swap though?

I'm not sure about actually making power but my truck holds gears longer, keeping and/or allowing higher rpm's and throttle response is better.
