Oh that wasn’t targeted at you ;)

Your reply was much more descriptive. But yeah, reply #12… literally told OP how to do this right. And still did it wrong

what does that harness pictured go to? Can you take a picture? And does the part it feeds into have any visible part number (in the format XXXXX-XXXXX) visible on any part of it?

What colors are the other two wires in that harness? I can’t tell.

Do you have a multimeter or a voltmeter so you can test wires for power, and/or ground, continuity, load?

so that harness comes from the rear relay that leads into the motor, the green and red go into the motor then the blue and yellow go into a sperate thing and are mounted on the track for the window maybe a ground? i will take more pictures tomorrow

Anyone have a power rear window on their AC? I have to replace my rear window and i have access to a power rear window. I am pretty handy and can fix or fab anything. Just checking if anyone has done a conversion or repair to their window. Maybe some pictures are out there that i have not found.

Are you talking about a vertical rear window? The cab shapes/openings are different so it wouldn't work. Installing a slider is doable though. You'll need quite a few things to retrofit but it was a factory option, so you can definitely re-add a slider.

Ah man, shame the OP never resolved this or if so never closed the loop.

But the thread got me wondering if I could disable/bypass the halfway stop point. Not really a big deal to release the button and hit it again. I assume this is a safety feature but not sure why the back window warrants it and any other car window doesn’t. Maybe it’s a stronger motor due to the size of the window and could really hurt someone.

Horizontal slider window will bolt right in if you have an access cab. Vertical slider would require you to weld the frame of a double cab into your cab, and maybe other mods to support the motor.

If you're dropping a horizontal slider into your truck, I'd check to see if you have a wire harness anywhere in the c-pillar, the wiring comes up from the passenger side, and connects where you see the arrow here. You may find the harness is pre-wired, and you have the wire loom that's hidden to the LEFT of the arrow here. The motor is the cylinder you see inside the red box, you'll need that metal box and motor assembly from a donor truck, it'll plug into the harness at the arrow. Note the black wire going up into the blue box, that's the cable that engages the sliding mechanism, which is what the black box is - make sure that slider is there, ideally with the wiring/cable intact. Also, the dash controls to the LEFT of your steering wheel is where the window control lives. Big oval, IIRC. A lot of people have found their truck was pre-wired to the back of the blank on that panel. You'll need the switch from the donor vehicle, and you should really grab any harnesses (both the one at the arrow, and the one leading up to the dash control) if your truck doesn't have a power slider or the power slider button currently. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, just because you install the wiring doesn't mean it "works". Sometimes you need to also install a fuse and potentially a relay also, in the OEM locations Toyota used to power it. I can't tell you off the top of my head where those are.

@shifty! MY MAN!!! Yeah I cant wait to see what window we have. I found the wiring diagram and location of all the components in the 05-06 FSM [BE-121] and page 187-188 on the 06 EWD. I'll turn it to a thread if it works. I have to get on the Toyota site for the part numbers. There are a couple likely motor options on EBAY. I am hoping it is the slider as I would prefer not to have to weld in the cab and a power window would be great.

The window is an electric slide. Have to check behind the back seats to see if the harness is there.
    Thanks again for the info!

Keep us posted! I'm sure someone will find this interesting in the future.

If it were me, I'd hit a junkyard to source the parts in the red box. Both the metal cubby and motor, any harnesses, etc.

Yes Sir, that's the idea. The list is getting bigger, just got my LED headlight replacement bulbs that JDM Driveway did in that YT video someone posted.
