12 yrs from date of first use. VIN states when that was. Example:

You can search by VIN using https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle or call a dealer with VIN, looks like yours already expired. Mine expires in May 2019.

Yep, it goes my date of manufacture. I have a "late manufacture" 2007 model, so I had until May 2019 to get it in for the recall as well.

On another note, many of the dealerships have tons of free pallets and wood right now if you have any projects going on

I created an account and mine expires 06/12/2019. That is the second time that Kearny Mesa Toyota has been unscrupulous. Shame because I have bought two vehicles from them and had years of service with them. I will try Toyota of Escondido.

Wow ... I'd march in there and give them a piece of my mind on the showroom floor. Wait for the busiest part of the day so hopefully there are potential customers in there. See if you can get ahold of the dealership's GM or owner.

Contact toyota corporate about recall and tell them your local dealer refuses to do it, might help, or atleast get sent to someone worth dealing g with.

So my 2008 Tundra frame was just denied by Toyota - they said that since I purchased the vehicle after May 2017, it was not covered. But reading through this post, it seem that both bumbaim and craigerman got theirs approved, even though they had purchased theirs after May 2017...

It shouldn't matter at all when you purchased the truck. A recall is a recall. That sounds really fishy.

My thoughts exactly. Is there any chance you would be willing to PM me your VIN so that I can use that as an example of "past practice"?

It's not a recall though, those don't have a time frame. This was a Warranty Enhancement Program that covered the frame for 12 years from the date of first use or 5/21/18.

It sucks for sure but from their end the warranty is ended.

    Details are here.

Just to be clear, my truck meets every single stipulation mentioned in the Warranty Enhancement Program ZH7... but there is a loophole that they are using from the frame lawsuit settlement that defines the "class" as being those who have purchased their vehicles before the official settlement date. Other Tundra owners in this forum have received frames despite purchasing their trucks after this date.

Maybe(?) you can find a dealer that likes / is set up to do the frame warrantee work who will force your truck through the claims process? Got to be good money to a dealer that is set up right for the job.

    Update:
The frame was finally replaced and I added a Toytec 3" Eibach lift with SPC upper control arms. While my truck was at the dealer a pine tree fell on it (through the windshield). The dealers insurance gave me 2 options $9,500 for repairs or $13,500 to salvage the truck. I chose the former (will post pics in the next 2 days). I am waiting for a few more parts and then it will be finished.

Question: I need to replace the left front wheel bearing. Can someone tell me if I should buy the assembled unit (I can find them for about $100) or just buy the bearing and have it pressed.

Couple more points: The dealer tried to sell me the following (after bragging that they make $6-$6.5K per frame replacement). Replace the parking brake lines (and center pivot) - $1,150, water pump $598 (it wasn't weeping but they said while they had access it was a good idea to replace), left wheel bearing $625, and a couple other items. I declined all items. I fixed the parking brake lines - the only part I needed was a $55 new OE pivot assembly.

I'll let you know what I'm billed out in a few weeks.
I will be having the dealer install spark plugs, water pump, and all (4) new Rotors and pads. I sourced the parts and they are billing me labor. They told me it would be less that the billable time, actual labor time, as the quoted costs were based on accessing an installed motor and the components were easy to access while out.

Need to replace left front wheel bearing. Any opinions on an assembled unit vs just the bearing (and having it pressed). Would prefer to buy a good quality part

    @bumbaim , how much $$?

You're looking at having a truck that rides and handles like new (assuming u do struts and tires). I'm struggling with what you'd gain by selling it for the $9k (roughly) that it's worth. The drive train is good to 400k and buying a new or used (that rides worse) for double the $$ doesn't seem to make much sense. Just curious on your perspective.
