I would never expect the pop in bulbs to perform the same as a light that replaces the original, that has a backlight etc. However, a couple of things:

    1. I need to check for myself to see if yellow IS an improvement. What if I spent all that money and the result was just not what I wanted?
    2. You and any vendor has to still have their prices compared to what you can get on Amazon. I don't expect the prices the be the same, but if its way off, then you know, I'm buying a light that can only be replaced by another one, not really that can be fixed. Amazon can replace a light just like anyone else although they can't answer questions. But its a sealed light assembly, how many questions should I have other than maybe installation. See what I mean?
    3. If I like the yellow and I see that it can be even better, then I'll go with actual lights. That whole switching thing is more of an irritation to me and I would think it would effect the lifetime of the bulb. I do not expect something that costs a fraction of the price to last as long or achieve the same quality.

    1) Completely understand. That's the hardest thing about selling/marketing premium products in any genre. If you can't show or convince someone that it's better they won't buy it.
    2) If you're talking about products that we offer in particular you shouldn't be able to find them cheaper on Amazon. If we're talking about "similar" products then we're back to the original argument of quality vs price. Most premium brands are price locked (MAP) so if there is a lower price available on Amazon that usually gets a slap pretty quickly. Of course there are manufacturer sales that will come up, and sometimes we will adjust our Amazon listings accordingly. Other times though after sale pricing and Amazon's cut we can't compete so we don't change our pricing just on that platform to even try and compete. That said, we would still offer the same discounts on our own website that one would find on Amazon and also don't charge sales tax so for most folks we still come out cheaper. We understand that Amazon is a juggernaut and that fight is an uphill battle. We'll always have that one.
    3) Again, I can't control how anyone spends their hard-earned money. This stuff is my passion though and I have devoted a whole lot of time to understanding what works and what doesn't. I'm going to do my best to educate folks based upon what I know. What works for me and what is "best" might not fit the budget nor the use case of everyone out there. I'm not telling anyone that their purchase was wrong. I know that Snap-On and Mac tools are out there, but I still buy most of my tools at Harbor Freight too!

What's funny to me is that folks will bitch and complain all day long about quality control and things not lasting as long as they use to, etc... but then when someone offers a better built or non-mass Chinese produced product people will turn away from it due to cost. I just don't get it :notsure:

It kinda leaves vendors and manufacturers at a loss in being competitive within various markets. They have to choose to either reduce quality and engineering or be happy selling to a much smaller niche of folks within that specific market.

My experience has been that some smaller businesses have recently being going out of their way to remain competitive, offer discounts when/where they can, and provide better interpersonal customer service. So, for me, I'll try to save a few bucks here and there (mainly because it will make me feel better about my purchase), but in the end I'll always try to support the smaller business, who is selling a better product, whenever feasible.

    Just my 2 cents...

Something interesting today. So I got my cheap bulbs and was excited to install them. Much to my surprise, when I pulled the assembly out, it appears that the person that had the vehicle before me must have replaced the fog lights because what I found was an entire light, not just a bulb you could twist out. I don't this this is a normal Tundra OEM fog light? Either way, using the cheap bulbs appears to be a non-option.

What trim level/year of truck do you have? I'm not sure exactly what year it was... maybe 2018, but either way if you have a high enough trimmed and late enough model vehicle you don't have a replaceable bulb housing. You would have a sealed LED housing directly from the factory which would not have a bulb to replace.

Ah yes. Those be sealed-beam LED units. Unfortunately there's no bulb to change. As far as OEM units go they're actually not "bad". So your options would be either a full replacement unit as I referenced earlier or you could go and seek out a halogen housing to swap in. The LED units are more desirable though so you should be able to come out money ahead if you do decide to go the halogen housing route.
