Most of the features of the '20-'21's are also found on the '19 Pro. The '21's are really scarce because of parts shortages and Toyota retooling for the new gen. Finding a "deal" for any Pro may be a challenge. YMMV.

I had a 2008 SR5 that was actually prewired as a “Limited” (back before “Pros” and “Platinums” and “1794s” existed). It had BT phone, steering wheel controls, and JBL audio, which meant it left the factory as a “stripped limited.” I spent a lot of time and money over the 300k miles I owned it putting upgrades on it when I could to give me the creature comforts and upgrades I wanted (Auto AC, Auto-on headlights, BT streaming radio with USB media), suspension, tires, wheels, leather seats, seat heaters, etc. And when the Pros came out in 2015, I kept looking at them thinking “it’s an SR5 with a suspension upgrade” o_O:notsure:

Then, when the 2020 came out, they finally based them off of the Limited trim with MOST of the updates I had done to my 2008, or still wanted (38-gallon tank, CarPlay, LED headlights, dynamic cruise, etc.)...so I started looking at them, but not very serious. As 300k kept getting closer on the 2008, and I learned about the new color on the 2021’s (and then saw it in person on a RAV4), I pretty much made up my mind that my next truck was going to be a ‘21 Pro.

But, I came from a Chevy/GM back in winter of 2008, so I had a lot of seat time in a Tundra already to know what I wanted.

    That’s my story anyway...

Im leaning 2020-2021. As my better half stated I usually work hard to get what I want I better not settle and end up where I am now, not fully happy with last purchase.

I got a 2016 ram rebel and it is amazing alot of creature comforts and I got a good deal. Ran through it mechanically and its good to go did 60k service early and made sure everything is good to go for a long time.(new brakes, rotors, tonneau cover, larger tires 34.5, diffs, trans transfer case all drained and filled just in case.) I enjoy my truck, but damn I love the pro, I can see them a mile away and it got me hooked.

It will be a pro or platinum for me or nothing for a while. I am not playing the mark up games(or the ammo markup game either, panic and fear drive up prices and I want no part in the mass hysteria that it brings on good people)

Long story short cant go wrong with a pro of any year but if you want the small things right away its top shelf or build it yourself. I want a nice factory truck that I can play with and hopefully hold on to it for as long as I can! I will be building up my two door tahoe so my backup truck needs to be capable just in case.

I am still open to opinions though on why not just get used. (Aftermarket for tundras is very passionate for sure, and you can find dang near anything to upgrade what it may lack!)
