Did a little bit of Photoshop on Pete's truck. Filled in the bumper and added 45 degree fill in the bottom left and right of the grille surround. I also had a version where the bottom of the surround was extended to the bumper but didn't like the look of that one.

I really want to do this to my truck but I'm kinda stuck with the chrome look... and I don't see an option for chrome TOYOTA letters across the updated grill. Think the Attitude/Midnight Black Metallic will look good on my truck?

Couldn't find a single other post in this thread of black truck with chrome with the grill...

Here's a down and dirty Photoshop to give you an idea. I think a color matched surround would look awesome.

No prob, I'm a geek when it comes to PS. I think it gives an updated look and makes your truck look a bit meaner :bikewheelie2:

Ok, spill the beans, what did you pay to have it color matched? Looks awesome, like a new truck!

I got the hookup from caliber collision $180. Service king wanted $600! Toyota of Fort Worth referred me to caliber collision and I was not disappointed. With new tires, wheels, headlights and now grill I feel like it is a new truck. Need a bull bar now to hide that 1” gap between bumper and grill.

These 3 parts from sparksparts.com ...but they only have certain colors so I ordered black and had the moulding and grill border color matched at a local body shop.6ED75F1B-45C6-40D5-850B-0DD420689B5E.jpg

Just a heads up guys, if you're ordering through sparksparts, they often, if not always have a free shipping promo code. I emailed them in February and they gave it to me. Turns out my local Toyota dealer carries the parts also and it came out $12 less than above, plus no shipping.

The sequoia bumper will close the gap.

I took a sequoia bumper. Cut it in half to create the two piece bumper, installed my reszfab bumper and sequoia top half.

Wow now that’s some creativity! Well done. Looks good! Could one just install the sequoia bumper and not cut it in half? Also will 2008-2020 sequoia bumpers fit easily on a 2008 tundra? Or is there any bracket changes or cutting/trimming necessary?

Hi. Thanks. Yes you can just install the sequoia bumper for sure. Depending on your current tundra bumper (2 piece vs 1 piece) will determine if you need any new brackets or hardware.

but one piece you will need for sure is a support. #6 picture below

Been working to close the gap on my install with weatherstripping.

Here is a picture of the weatherstripping I bought off Amazon. I have a huge gap due to the smittybilt front bumper so I needed at least 2.5" weatherstripping. Sold out right now but hopefully will be back in stock soon

    Screenshot_20210321-085324.jpg

I installed by taping it to the backside of the grill. It looks to be 3m double sided automotive tape but could be generic. The material is not hard so it doesn't scratch the bumper but I am not sure how long it will last. And at high speeds it may just blow off. Let's see. Took about an hour of tinkering but this is what if looks like nowPXL_20210320_233251856.jpg

A couple day time pics of my upper sequoia bumper swap. Was easy to do, the cut line was at a body line. Used some black rubber edge trim. Might get a thinner one in the future. Everything swapped over with ease. Waiting for upper bracket to come in but it’s held solid by some fasteners and screws in the fender.
