Got my Bison installed yesterday. Made up in Canada, 689 CAD plus tax, free shipping. I'm happy with it for the price.

Great timing! What did you use for clamps? I got my Bison in June, just got truck and went to put it on today but clamps don’t work. If I pull the top cleat rails off then I can use clamps (just not the ones it came with). Pic of what it came with, not enough bite, slips off. And I’d really like to keep the clear rail on

There was a second set of clamps in my box, without the boxed end for the nut. I mounted them in reverse with the skinny profile side against the bed. I added a lock washer to help them not come loose. And yeah, the side bed rails need to come off. There was a set of plates with mine you can use to mount the rails lower, haven't gotten around to doing that part yet though

Anyone using a rough country? They seem similar to backflip other than you can't fold it all the way up.

Ah man I didn’t even look at the second set, assumed it was just more of the same. 50/50 chance I guess I picked wrong. That’s awesome thank you, hopefully that does the trick! Assumed that’s what the plates are for but seemed strange it would lower it that much, must be almost 3 inches. Time to go back to the garage

exit: annnnd done. Fits ok, like you said for the price i have no complaints, other than lack of lock washers or lock nuts. Biggest gap for water and dust will actually be the sides of the tailgate itself, not the covers fault. Did you use the supplied weatherstripping on the front? Doesn’t seem like it needs it

For the included weatherstripping that came with the Diamondback SE, does it need to be flush with the stripping on the cover itself?

I asked before and got no response, but has anyone tried the Weathertech alloy tonneau cover? I am between that and the Backflip MX4(which is less with Realtruck). Thanks in advance

Anyone try to the Extang Solid Fold 2.0? I'm trying to figure out a good solution that will also allow me to run crossbars. Billiebars recommended the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 as a good cover that keeps the weather out when using their bars.

For those with the OEM cover, can you tell me if you can open and close the tailgate without having to lift the last panel? Or do you have to lift the last panel to close the tailgate? Do you have pictures of your cover?

I've had the OEM cover since January. You can open & close the tailgate 100% independently of the tonneau cover. In fact, you can't lift the last panel without opening the tailgate because you can't access the latch.

There's hundreds of pics of the OEM cover so I won't bother uploading another one.

Lol thanks! Yeah I looked at the pictures as I was comparing them to the bakflip since I'm pretty sure that's who makes them. Someone said it's the equivalent of the MX4 which is good. But the pictures I found look more like the fibermax which you cannot close the tailgate without lifting the cover before you do it. That is why I asked. Whereas the MX4 you don't have to do anything with the cover to close the tailgate.

A big shout out to @SantanaRealtruck for an outstanding ordering process. I ordered the RetraxPro XR this past Monday afternoon and received it on Wednesday (2 day shipping). I'll be installing it this weekend. FedEx banged the box up a tad but hopefully there's no damage. Fingers crossed.

This is the Undercover ArmorFlex Tonneau cover. First time owning a Tonneau cover but went with this model for its low profile, line-x panels to match the bed that has line-x spray, durability, Made in USA, and this has a 5-year warranty. Ordered it from RealTruck and shipped the next day. Maybe even the same day.... Put it on yesterday (very easy to install as they supply you with special clamps to fit in the bed rails) right before a bruiser of a storm and went to check afterward and bed was bone dry except for two very small spots of water by the left and right tailgate. For the size and strength of the storm was very happy with it! Tailgate opens and closes with no problems.

Review bought a BISON trifold for my crewmax 6.5, looks just like a Bakflip G2 (and Bison sent me a Bakflip G2 video link for install).
    - i don't recommend a trifold for a 6.5 box, it should be 4 pieces. when folded back against the cab its 4 or 5 inches higher than cab, big wind catcher and camera is blocked
    - when folded against the cab it rests 100% on the rear light/camera bracket, not against the cab metal. pretty tricky to place the rubber pads on the tonneau to properly protect the cab light
    - install is simple. have to remove the factory bed rail/cleat bar. they do provide some flat brackets to lower the factory bar a couple inches so it can be used, haven't done this yet.
    - no locknuts or lockwashers provided for the mount clamps, had to buy some
    - its their 07-21 tundra unit, so actually a bit narrow for the 2022, should be 1/2" or 3/4" wider to fit perfectly. When I latch the last panel by tailgate I need to wiggle it back and forth a bit to ensure both side latches catch

for under $700CAD ish and free shipping in canada; its super cheap, relatively fine and its good value for the cost. If it was 4 panels instead of the 3 I would like it way more. Does the basics likes keeps the weather and looky loos out. Wish I could justify the cost of a Retrax that I've owned before, if money was no object I would have a Retrax hands down

Does it cover the camera and bed light when folded up against the cab? I don't think the bakflip ones do or the OEM one does either.

I does block the camera in full upright. But I don't really plan to ride with it that way often. I can get by with only partial open. I will say it does a good job in full upright position keeping it away from the glass or leaning up against the cabin. there is a good 6-8 inches clearance.

Ordered a Truxedo Pro X15 for my CrewMax, and super happy with the fabric texture, and all was watertight after the first thunderstorm and wash yesterday. Shipping was quicker through RealTruck.com and coupon worked, compared to directly with Truxedo.

Only suggestion is to remove the deck rack track at the cab end of the bed, as the mounting bolts don't fit real well with that still in place.

Ah man bummer. I really like the idea of the line x covered panels etc. But blocking the camera is sort of a deal breaker for me.

Opened my Bak X4S and was disappointed both plastic end caps on the cover arrived broken. One side was cracked down the middle, other side had broken clips. Also found the tail ends on tailgate side to be dangerously sharp.

Agree with all your points, notice the same with mine. You can adjust the latch mechanisms out on each end so it catches better. I definitely notice this cover is too narrow though, I frequently have the rubber on one slide sliding under the the edge of the bed instead of covering it.
I'll almost never need to have it fully open, but yeah I don't like how it rests against the rear light. I will just take it off if I really need the full bed, it's only two screws. Overall, happy with it for the cost, but it needs some tweaks to be great.

    Hi Guys,

I bought a Diamondback HD tonneau for my upcoming Pro. What are y'all thoughts/experiences between going with the Diamondback cross bin for storage or the swing cases for storage?

Obviously utilization of the bed and what space is left if something to consider with these options. What I was looking at for reference:

A few questions on the Retrax PowerTrax Pro XR (Power) versus XR (Manual)...

I live in the mountains of British Columbia, where it can get cold and snowy in winter and hot in summer any challenges with either? I'm concerned about freezing and being unable to open the cover. How easy/difficult is it to open the manual? In their promotional video, it seems like it glides quickly enough, but I'd like to hear from those that have had one. Lastly, if you had to do it all over again would you go with the manual or power?

    Thanks!

This question might be better answered by people that have owned previous year model trucks. I believe all the aftermarket tonneau covers for the 22 have just started to come to market. I'm sure the mechanism is the same for previous gen models and they would have far more experience with the covers.

A lot. See my channel for all installs/mods!
I have the PowerTraxOne on my 2022 TRD Pro, but this is actually the 4th electric cover on my 4th Tundra…had a 2014 SR5, 2017 SR5, and a 2020 Platinum, all had a Retrax PowerTrax cover…I live in northeast PA and the only time I had trouble is if I let ice build up on it, the tracks would freeze not allowing cover to open…as long as I kept brushing the snow/ice off, no issues at all…no problems in hot weather at all…would absolutely recommend the electric version, it’s extremely convenient to open/close with a push of a button (yea, I’m lazy…lol)…hope that helps!

Can you share where/how you run the wires? Also, I'm thinking about running it to a fuse box rather than directly to the battery as I don't like the idea of attaching things directly to the battery terminals.
