Sold the truck a few weeks ago. But I will be ordering another one of these when i get a new truck. It let very little water in and only on heavy rains. Very easy to put areobars with the bike rack on top of it.

I went with the Bakflip Revolver X4S. Very happy with my choice so far. It rolls up securely if I need access to the full bed. Been through a few rains, no leaks yet. Took a while to align perfectly, but total install was still under an hour.

Anyone know of a cross bar that works with the backflip mx4. Prefer it to be easy to remove as I only need it when camping. Our bikes will go on a hitch bike rack on the camper.

If anyone is interested, like new Retrax PRO cover is available for sale. I added the XR rails with T-slots. I still have the reg non slot rails as well. I’m in the northeast. Not looking to ship, too bulky. If interested, send me PM, make an offer. Only selling because I want to get a paint match cap.

Hey all, I've had the bakflip mx4 for a while now and whenever it rains I get water in the truck bed. Anyone have any remedies? I emailed bak no response yet.

Most tonneau covers are not water proof but claim some weather resistance with some better at it than others. Are you experiencing water intrusion at the tailgate or bulk head? Have you tried using foam gasket?

    Have the foam gasket.

Isn't the first truck I've had, but the first truck that the cover hasn't kept the water out.

I have a plastic bed liner cover thing and it's constantly getting water on it. I've tried to shift the tonneau around a little and it doesn't help. Pretty annoying.

I picked up the rough country retractable cover. I wanted a retractable cover and didn't want to spend much more than 1k and didn't want to go on a cheap one. Rough country is at least a known brand for their parts. Install was super easy and it stays absolutely dry inside. Only time will tell on the overall quality as it lives through the seasons but I am pleased with the build quality and look of it. The bucket seemed on the smaller side in comparison to others too.

BAK finally got back to me, said I should buy a rubber gasket and rtv sealant to replace their foam thing, especially in the corners.

Why they wouldn't just include this in the original package, especially since they know the solution is beyond my understanding.

Retrax XR and Yakima HD racks on my 2024 SR5. Had it on there all winter with no issues. Will use it for hauling my tandem kayak on camping trips plus ladders, etc.20231228_130204.jpg

Any updates on this cover? I just purchased the E-Power version and hoping I made the right choice at less than half the Retrax powered version

I just purchased and installed the manual retract version. Look very nice, install took about 2 hours however, I really took my time. I still need to put the drain tubes in. The fronts look easy enough, still looking for where to run the tubes back by the tailgate as I don’t see any pre-drilled locations there. Hoping someone can share some info here.

Hi, may I ask what adapter you found? I have the RC bed cover and I do not want to drill too. Thank you

installed the TourTop Bed Cover from Rugged Bound Supply today - pretty awesome system!

no drilling required, no c-clamps for install, chassis beam attaches to front of bed using existing holes from the rail system, lift strut brackets attach direct to side rails, brackets for the locking clamps attached behind the stock tie-downs
can be easily removed in about 10-15 min by popping the struts off and 8 screws holding the cover to the chassis beam
T channels across the top to attach whatever you like, and supports 550lb payload.
lockable and completely water tight (have not tested this yet)

Update on my SyneticUSA MR cover. I've had it on for a couple months now. Lots of rain. This cover is great. Keeps 95% of water out of the bed. I get a few drops near the corners of the tailgate. Cover works great, looks good, and was only $1000 bucks all in. I had a few questions during the install, got a person on the phone right away to help me. Service was great. I removed the metal canister cover and installed my fork mount bike racks. Plan to leave the cover open when carrying bikes, although I could put a cross bar near the tailgate in the t-slots to elevate the bikes and be able to keep the cover closed. Plan to add a rack this spring, likely the Elevate rack. That will be a bit of a custom job. I'll update when that's completed. Thought I'd give a shout out to this cover company.

Nice! How big is the canister? I was considering the roll and lock because it’s supposed to take up the least bed space, but it’s pricy and people seem to hate the center strap getting in the way.

It’s a bit smaller than the Retrax from what I understand, due to a smaller slat and slightly less weight capacity. I don’t plan on putting myself and a bunch of friends on it closed so not worried, . The MR still has a center strap, although if you watch the videos on the website you’ll see you can operate it without the strap.
