Cargo van market is totally nuts as well

I just bought one today , used 2021 transit, 11k miles , original msrp 46k, had to pay 61,900.

unreal, you can’t even find them anywhere and ordering a new one is worse, they said ford “may” start building them at the end of the year or maybe early next and they have no idea when and if you can get one.

    it’s crazy out there

mad near as I can figure it’s anywhere from 10-25k above for whatever your buying.

Also apologize for a brief hijack but will the October allocation come in on 10/3? I want to be at the dealer when it is put out so I can grab my first Tundra if the right one is available. Where are you located please?

Unfortunately it doesnt work like that. So we set out preferences as to what we want ahead of time. My orders are usually submitted a week before the allocation actually cuts and it goes through automatically overnight. I can submit for say 80 to 100 vehicles but might only get 10 to 15 and some of those wont even be what I asked for. Some manufacturers offer an ordering system based on how you mentioned it but Toyota isnt one of them. Nissan for example, when their allocation rolls around they will tell you that you earned 4 Frontiers, 5 Maximas, etc then you get to go in and decide what trim level you want, what color, the options and all that. Toyota isnt like that at all...We submit what we want then wait to see what Toyota actually gives us.

ya , I took it in the shorts, but honestly, even though I had to pay 62 for a 46K used van, I was happy to find one.

with business, when the time comes, you can't phuck around.

I got transit 350, payload is over 4K, woohoo.

Pro is built off the Limited platform. Capstone is based on the Platinum platform if that makes any difference. :burp:

So after all these reviews and test drives you bought a transit instead of a truck huh.

I was waiting on a pro and got the platinum. I prefer leather over softex and the interior is just sick on the platinum. The main thing I don't like is the throttle delay, so doing it over again I would get the hybrid to hopefully improve the pause and lurch. Second thing I don't like is the AVS. Just garbage suspension in my opinion that bounces all over the place and you feel every crack in the road. Dealer says I cant upgrade to non-AVS but I'm hoping they are full of shit. The auto deploy running boards are nice, but offer no protection when driving. I rubbed against a short post just in front of the rear wheel well when camping. A permanent step would have protected it. Based on what you have mentioned, I would go hybrid platinum without the advanced package.

Platinum is awesome. I know this comment doesn't add any value but you see if you don't have 50 posts you can't sell any parts and I have a part to sell. If you dare to post it for sale in the general chat, you get banned for a week apparently (it seems the mods haven't heard of VPN's or incognito yet but I digress lol).... so ya here is a useless post just to increase my post numbers.

Well shit. One of my original dealers reached out about a 23 platinum hybrid in WCP. $68.3k msrp .

I love the pro but toying the idea of luxury over the rugged off-road pro. I also am hesitant on the platinum leather wear as some pics I’ve seen is pretty wrinkled already

I am going to go with the platinum mainly because of the interior and the fact that I can lift and put new wheels and tires while still staying below MSRP of the Pro. Getting the platinum for MSRP 63k.

I wouldnt go with leather personally, especially on a truck. My PRO has the Softex which is great.

My wifes '17 GX460 premium has real leather and at 60k its pretty worn in/beat up. My buddies '14 GX base has the Lexus version "synthetic" anbd still looks new. Holds up much better

I have a fully optioned out platinum. Leveled, wheels and tires, retrax, tint. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. It is just an all around sweet truck. If Toyota would fully option out the Pro’s like Ford does on the Raptors then I would have went with that.

If you're using the nav on the platinum does the digital dash display your next turn?

Do you mean the digital dash or the HUD? The “digital dash” will display your next turn on any model with the 12.3 inch digital display. It’s on the left customizable display. I can’t speak from experience to the HUD, but believe it will.

I hear ya. I put an “order” in for a limited TRD off-road about 12 months ago. I even told my salesman I’d consider a PRO. My dealership has only been allocated probably 2 PRO’s and 1 Off-road in the past 6+ months. I’m practically throwing my money at Toyota and I can’t get anything.

I wanted a Pro but ended up with a platinum hybrid. After throwing on Icon suspension, wheels/tires I'm pretty happy with my purchase. This may sound like an exaggeration, but the thigh extender on the driver seat alone is worth getting the platinum over the Pro. I've never had this feature on a vehicle before and it's an absolute game changer. HUD, real leather, rear ventilated seats...meh...but that thigh extention is legit! 20220927_154011.jpg
