Would make me run away from a dealer that does this. Unacceptable and just wrong

Funny how dealerships conflate the flashing 3rd brake light with "an extra second" "per department of transportation"

But, the DOT never said a flashing brake light=1 extra second of reaction time, and in fact, I'm pretty sure the DOT and NHTSA would tell you it's an illegal mod.....

 

The $400 for nitrogen in your tires really bothers me. At the dealer I go to, it wouldn't be too hard to get them to do it when I bring it in for service for free. I wouldn't care if they had the exact truck I wanted, they would remove all that garbage or I'd be somewhere else. There's 100 trucks where that one came from. I wouldn't want that pulsing brake thing even if it was free.

 

I believe atmosphere is mostly nitrogen to begin with.
Furthermore, unless a vacuum was pulled on the tires then backfilled with pure nitrogen, all you can really expect from nitrogen fills is that you'll get a slightly higher ratio of nitrogen than atmosphere. So, what's the point then?

so what you are really paying for is $400 for regular air, PT is laughing at you folks for paying for that.

plus higher nitrogen content (by normal air content) only benefits airplane tires due to the temp/altitude that they work in.

 

I just picked up a base 23 SR5 crew for $3k below msrp. Found the car listed on cars.com it was on the dealer lot in RI.
Dealer did not charge any extras. Paid price plus taxes,doc fee and registration.

I have to get it back to a dealer to help me set up that Toyota connect or whatever. It won’t let me start any new profile. Other than that, car runs perfect.

 

If its new, you can use the help button or whatever its called up where the map lights are, and someone will answer and help you through it. The dealer did that with me when I bought mine as the system was showing different screens than the setup instructions were.

Absolutely love the bottom of that sticker with the EPA info that says "protecting the consumer"... HA - like they're protecting the consumer with a 15K markup. I REALLY hope all those dealers get their karma.

one thing to be careful of with some of those dealers showing discounts, they add shit and add ons once you get there.

there was dealer doing that here, showing under MSRP but then making you buy a bunch of bullshit that added to more than MSRP.

None of the above do that thankfully. I've chatted with them all quite a bit and been into 2 of the 4. Coworker got almost $3,800 off the dealer that I screen shot 3 of about a month or so ago. That dealer used to require their $1,500 in clear care but they stopped that many months ago. They advertised it at least ha Feel bad for the states with crummy dealers. Luckily most here have 0 ADM.

 

remember sometimes its not the dealer adding stupid stuff to the sticker. SET/GST regions have a bad habit of adding junk at the regional level. big one is the toyogard one

For only 5K, I'd bet that if you were seriously interested, and about to walk away they'd balk, or if you did walk away, they'd be calling you that day or the next day.

I guess it comes down to how sure they are they can move these trucks with the ADM fee and letting you walk.

But these dealers don't realize that this nonsense is already starting to fade and people remember when they're treated like crap.

below is the stats i had on the tundra

i averaged 24 cents a mile just on gas over the course of 5 yrs and 44k miles.

 

The dealers in my state really like to discount any Tundra that hits the lot unsold.

 

If anyone was interested what offers dealers have up in Canada here's a couple.
These are mentioned accessories: Block Heater, Dual Running Board - Black, Rear Bumper Step, 4 Way Protection (undercoat, rust, paint, interior), Ceramx all windows protection, Deluxe PPF, ECP (Heninger Only Worry-Free program includes a lifetime powertrain warranty).

 

Does anyone have a lead on a TRD Pro White with Black interior? Minimal options are preferred. I posted on the Facebook group as well. Looking to purchase anytime within the next 6 months.

EDIT: Found one on 5/23 and put a deposit down.

 

Platinum's must be a hard sale for this dealer. Their other tundra models are MSRP or only $1k off.
