3rd gen Tacoma is a great marketing strategy for Toyota... Make it drive like complete shit so people will upgrade to the tundra... That's what the Tacoma did to me.... They are nice trucks but they sure don't drive nice.

    No surprise there
    6cyl Hybrid

I just took the new Sienna for a spin…. Kinda like a golf cart at times.

My guess, many will not like this… yet that fuel economy full size truck, will be great

For those who haven’t been in a hybrid Toyota- it really is a marvel of a over engendered vehicle. Technically a advanced awesome system.

That said, I’m looking at a low mile 2020 6cyl for my Wife.

Hasn't affected sales at all. My 2017 Taco was by far the best Taco I ever owned.

I dont mean to offend anyone who likes them, but for me...

new Tacomas are shit, no thanks.

more reliable or not, I would get one of other brands way before I would buy a tacoma.

I owned 3 tacomas back in the day, I liked those. I had one for a rental for a week a few months ago and could not stand it, awful.

Just because flies like to eat shit doesn't make shit good to eat.
I never said the 3rd gen was a bad truck or unreliable. It just drives like complete crap. It is a well rounded truck other than that one glaring aspect. As someone who likes to drive I need to like the way the truck or car drives. The Tacoma was one of the worst I have driven. It comes down to the weak v6 with a shift happy 6 speed. The tundras 6 speed shifts early like that one does but the tundra makes enough torque so it's not an issue.

If they give us a 450hp and 600lb/tq hybrid plug in with a unloaded 30mi range, I can live with a truck with some styling misses and a few less electronic features. Just say’n

I am thinking there will be two engine options on the new Tundra 6 Cyl, and one being a full blown Hybrid which I think the orange towards the hood is the high voltage buss, in the pics for the new I Engine, so defintly a Hybrid and 30+ mpg would be achievable I think, and probably another basic twin turbo 6 cylinder that gets about 15/23 mpg.

Toyota did say they new Tundra would have an engine that would be better, and used some other words that I took as it would blow away the competition and betting they will with the new 2022 Tundra.

Just got in March my new 2021 Tundra so in three years will be in the market for the new Tundra 2024 which will be perfect, as it takes three years to get rid of the bugs in any new vehicles!!!!

Could be what the new tundra max is like. At 5k elevation, this f150 powerboost is a beast compared to my 5.7.

in the 2019 tundra I was getting at most 11mpg around town. Never changed.

This drive after work was all stop and go, up and down hills around Reno.

Well it looks like I'll be on this forum a little longer. Drove 4.5 hours to pick up an AT4 and the sales person "did not know" there was a $10k market adjustment on the trucks. Fuck GMC.

Apparently I'm not the only one. Reviews show one other person made it through trade appraisal and got to finance before finding it.

Same thing happened when I bought my TRD Pro; that $10K disappeared quick when they realized they were much more interested in selling me the vehicle that had been sitting on their lot for 70+ days, than I was interested in paying more than MSRP. I guess I got lucky.

I don't mind them charging adjustments. I won't pay it. But notify me. Showed them the PDF worksheet without it. I like the truck but even MSRP less incentives made me iffy.

It was a fully optioned 6.2. It had the premium pkg, tech pkg, safety 2 pkg, carbon pro pkg, , sunroof, and optional wheels. $68, 125 msrp. $78,125 sales price

One of the few actually on the lot and not “in transit” or “ in build.” But for $10k it ain’t going anywhere.
