They have overstock/open box/blemished wheels for over 50% off right now. I don't normally consider a gamble like that (overstock & open box would be fine, but getting dinged up wheels would suck)...but at $99 a wheel, I might just take the gamble!

I thought I was dead set on American Outlaw Lonestars in a 20x9 +10 with a Cooper Rugged Trek in a 275/60. This forum changed my dang mind and I searched and searched until bam I came across these. The tires were inexpensive on eBay through the Discount Tire Direct store. Simple Tire price matched. I’ll hopefully have the wheels and tires installed Saturday. Monday I plan on doing the leveling kit and alignment. Maybe Tuesday I’ll get the tint done.

The description for the wheels I got say they’re overstocked brand new wheels. I paid the $99 because idc about the warranty as much when you factor cost.

Ahhh. I see. Helps if I read the fine print better. Yeah, it says that they're Overstocked NIB. Dude...for that price I'm in! Thanks for the tip! Looks like I'll be buying the wheels through them and having Discount Tire swap out my TPMS sensors to the new wheels. Going to buy a set of 285/75/18 Yokohama M/Ts (probably) through them once I get the RC leveling kit installed.

Good luck! I’ll post pictures once I install the front 2” and wheels. I haven’t ordered the 15mm rear coil spacers yet

Dang man. You're doing 2" spacers up front and doing coil spacers in the rear? You're just going up a single size to 275/70. Are you planning for the future? Because you should have a ton of clearance, even without doing anything to the suspension.

I didn't even notice the garage sale section! :eek2: I have a set of Method 310's in my garage but ordered a set of the Echo's in 18x9 Bronze anyway. I couldn't pass up the deal! Ha ha. I'll see how they look in person next to the bronze 310's and then get rid of which ever I don't want. Luckily the methods were bought on walmart.com so the return is as easy as dropping them off at the customer service counter. lol.

Are you doing the Dobinsons spacer? I ended up ordering their 30mm set.

I almost went with a bigger tire but decided a 33 would be fine. I’m doing two because I can’t stand the rake and I’m not paying $200 for .25” less. So I’ll do the spacer I. The back for the same effect. I’m hoping the aesthetics of the offset make it all flow. Otherwise I’ll run it and go bigger next time.

Ahhh. That makes more sense. How much of a deal did you get on the 2" spacers up front? My RC kit is on b/o until mid-Feb.

haha. I'm doing the install myself too, but the RC kit was $150. $30 is def the right price. I need to start pinging you for all mods because you seem to be the go-to for all thrifty deals! Kudos to you!

Sorry I missed this…tailgate is manual on this SR5 (no spiffy button on the side…I think those may only come with limited + trim)

…but unlike previous Tundras it’s an electronic pad (no manual lever) and dampened while lowering.

    works for me

Any previous gen leveling kit will fit the 22’s! No need to wait for the RC kit. You can piece together a leveling kit or full lift kit for pretty cheap using shared components between the 07+ Tundras and LC80 cruisers. That’s what I did. Should be about 2.75” up front and 1.12” rear.

Will 35x12.5x18 with a +18 wheel fit without a level kit?

Sorry if this has been covered, but I can't seem to find the answer. I've had a westscott 3" collar lift on order for a few weeks now, but they seem to be delayed and I'm getting impatient lol. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on my wheels/tires and just mounting them before the lift, but curious if anyone has done it without a level kit yet. TIA!

My bet is it COULD be done by pinning the fender liner back and possibly a little trimming but realistically a small level would make it easier to run that size. I have the Westcott lift on order as well as 35's ready to mount...except I don't have a truck yet. How about you test it out???

haha I guess I could be the guinea pig. Just spoke with wescott today and they are still waiting on their parts to be powder coated and stated that hopefully they get parts by the end of the week to start shipping next week. Still trying to track down some wildpeak at3s, but looks like they are on back ordered so I might just go with the toyo open country at3s. My truck is headed to the shop at the end of the week for PPF, chrome delete and color match, ceramic coat, and tint so I still have a few weeks. Just curious if anyone has heard or tried it out yet.

The R4Tundra guys on IG have been running 35's on a -12 wheel with no lift for a while and only mentioned slight rubbing due to the wheel offset. I think you need to pin the liner back even with a leveling kit or lift? From what I've read it's pretty easy to do. But these trucks should clear 35's with no lift no problem.

Kinda unconventional but keep your eyes on Amazon for Wildpeak restock... They restock pretty frequently throughout the week and they're also the cheapest I've seen.

Going with METHOD 316 18x9 +18 Offset, 22 SR5 4X4 TRD Off Road, decided against leveling for now, waiting for the right leveling option, Tires I want the right look with or without leveling kit, 275/70/18 , same height and wider than stock >285/65/18< or 295/70/18. What tire size will give the best aggressive look? Thank you

Sorry. Having a little trouble following you on this one, but I'll take a swing at it. I'm assuming you're trying to decide between 275/70, 285/65, or 295/70?

It all depends on what you mean by "aggressive look", I guess. By "aggressive", do you want them to be wide with some poke or do you mean taller for better off-road performance?
    • 275/70 = .6" taller than stock and with a +18mm off set will stick out 1.85" more than the stock tire & stock off set
    • 285/65 = Same height as stock and with a +18mm off set will stick out 2.05" more than the stock tire & stock off set
    • 295/70 = 1.7" taller as stock and with a +18mm off set will stick out 2.25" more than the stock tire & stock off set
If you just want a wider look without improving ground clearance...go with the 285/65.

If you want max off road capabilities (wider & taller)...go with the 295/70.

If you want just a little of both...go with the 275/70.

The being said, I'm sure you won't have a problem fitting any of these sizes on the stock suspension with a +18mm off set. I will probably put on my 18x9 +18mm wheels with 295/70/18 tires well before my leveling kit gets here (especially since the ship date keeps getting pushed back).

    Hope that helps!

I am awaiting the delivery of a 2022 Tundra, Limited, TRD Off Road and would like to replace the rims and tires right away. I have come across a set of 17 x 7 TRD pro wheels with a +11mm offset at the dealer I am purchasing the truck at. The goal will be to put a level kit on the truck and run 34-35" tires. Would these rims work on the truck or do I need something wider? Here is a link to the specific rims:

    https://www.tacomatownonline.com/collections/trd-pro-wheels/products/trd-pro-bronze-rim

    Thanks!

    Good questions.

The rim will work (a little bit of poke beyond the fender) but most tires past 34.5 starts asking for at least a 7.5 rim width as the “preferred” mounted platform.

Feel free to research your tire options here Also…if You are planning this setup on a stock suspension you could have minor rubbing upwards of about 34” given the offset of the wheel.

So you may need to either see the setup on someone else’s rig and ask questions or you may be the first to let us know how it works.

Do you think he’ll rub on the inner fenders or the UCAs? With the offset out so far, as long as he keeps to around 11.5” wide, I don’t know that he’ll have rubbing. Going up to a full 35x12.50…I could definitely see rubbing there at stock height.
