They’ll all have gaps it’s just if it stays down or is jacked up

That was not the question. The pic above also shows NO gap. (2 pics prior to mine) So, your statement of “they will all have gaps” seems incorrect. The question asking about 2023 models was this…

“2023 Still have this seal gap on the back window? “

One person posted a picture that indeed showed NO gap on his 2023, however mine, which, again is pictured above does show a gap in the window trim.

Walk the lot. The gap is on every single truck. It’s not a big deal unless it doesn’t stay down or comes unhinged

How come my Limited doesn't have this tab? Are the window trims different between the SR5 and the Limited?

Zoidberg, I honestly had to look at your pic like 5x before I realised you also had the gap. Geez it's hard to see in your pic or these eye balls are getting old.

Shocking they haven't fixed this yet, or that they thought it was a good place for draining :(

I'm going in Saturday to have these replaced. Toyota has acknowledge that there is a problem with those seals and released a new replacement seal to fix it. Mine has been peeling up since I bought the truck last March.

Acknowledged that the seal is lifting?or that the seal is short? Find it hard to believe they are installing a longer seal when all the 23's come with short seals. You have any part numbers for the new seals? Jriedy85 you mind keeping us up to date on this? Pics and such? Thanks in advance.

That's what I took away from it is they acknowledge that the seal is too short. I remember seeing the paperwork and it showed that Toyota had a new part and a procedure to replace it. I'll see if I can get a hold of it when I'm at the dealer Saturday. Said it takes 2 hours per side to replace. So I'm gonna be sitting there a while.

Ok thanks again. I would certainly like mine fixed as I'm sure 1000s others would. Look forward to the follow up, cheers!

Yeah, they definitely have a new part that fixes this from the first run. My dealer proactively asked if I had concerns about the window seals when I took it in a few weeks ago. Told me they'll replace it witht the new part if I have issues.

I'm not concerned with the gap, just don't want it coming unhinged. I do have a new issue that popped up with the rear window on the driver side though. When it rains hard or I run it through a touch free wash, the window does not go down smooth. It's kind of jerky going down until it's dry.

If it's jerky going down until it's dry, wouldn't you prefer the gab was gone so it couldn't get wet in the first place? Should prolly be concerned about the gap.

Has nothing to do with the gap . My 22 crv front windows did the same thing. Needs the clamp tightened and the track greased

Like Zoid said, gap has nothing to do with it. Those bottom seals aren't water tight on any vehicle. That's why all vehicle doors have drains at the bottom. The vast majority of people have no idea there are drains in every one of their doors unless they get clogged and their doors fill up with water. It's like the drains on a sunroof, moves water intrusion away unless its clogged. A lot of sunroof leaks and sloshing water in doors is because of a blocked drain.

What is different on the new seal that keeps it from popping off? I took mine off and saw the tabs thats should retain the seal, I can't see why they aren't holding it on and I certainly hope the new seal doesn't pop off?

My truck is a new 23 as of June fyi.

Anyone happen to have the part number for the new seals? Is it true that newer trucks don't have this issue anymore?

Haven't been on here in quite a while. Last, I went to my dealer for service they said they'd replace but I haven't heard anything and it's been a few months :(

My June 2023 build has the same gaps.

Out of curiosity I looked at my wife's 2022 4Runner. It also has the same gaps, but they are less than half the width of the my Tundra's. I also noticed the seals on her ride seem to be made of stiffer rubber and they fit more snugly to the windows.

Fortunately, my Tundra doesn't have any wind noise like so many others do...yet. In fact, I haven't had a single warranty issue or recall on it. It just rolled over 5K miles today. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it.
