285/70r18 Anyone running?

    Road noise is nothing different than what I had in my 2018 Tundra SR5 with 20" BFG KO2s. Throttle response doesn't feel any different but then again, I baby this truck so I don't slam on the gas unless I have to. PLUS, no rubbing. I've been driving this for over 6 months now and now rubbing issues at all.

    2019 Tundra sr5 base suspension 4x4
    I can confirm 285/70/18 works on tundra with a little massaging. Added a 1.75 inch rough country leveling kit on my 2019 4x4 4.6 210k mile base suspension on base steel wheels. Went with nitto recon grappler and it rubbed the skid plate at full lock lightly. Trimmed about 3/4 inch off the corner of the skid plate and no rubbing at all now. Perfect size imo.

    Just wondering...I have a Tundra with 4.6 also and I was wondering how your truck handles the 285 70 18's? I am looking at the Toyo Open Country ATIII's in 285 70 18 but hoping it's not too much tire for the 4.6 models!?

    2021 Tundra TRD Pro Double-Cab
    285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. RCI rock sliders Leer Tonneau Cover NSV Hood Mounted Lightbar. Suspension air bags for better towing.
    Happy to report my Nitto Ridge Grappler's (285/70/18) have made it 62,400+ miles and have worn better than I could ever have asked for. They are currently at 7/32 and I bet I could get another 8,000 miles out of them without any issue. Most likely though, if a good deal on Ridge Grappler's comes up with black Friday in a couple of months I will jump on replacing them then.

    Fun Fact: I bought the truck and drove it right to Discount Tire and put the Nittos I have on it at $281.00 a piece in June 2021. With Bidenflation destroying our economy these tires are now $411.00. That's an increase of 47% in 39 months.

    If anyone is on the fence about this size trust me it is the ideal size for the truck. Any bigger and that 4.30 rear end starts to notice the extra weight. I had the same size on my previous truck which was a F-150 Ecoboost but it had a 3.31 rear and it got 11.5 mpg in city and about 16 highway. It was horrific. With my Tundra, I get 15 city and as much as 18 highway with no problems. Now, a good friend of mine has 35 inch tires (next size up) and he's averaging around 13 city in his Tundra and around 16 highway max. He regrets it but sold the original wheels so he's stuck.
