I use fusion 360. It’s similar to Onshape, though I personally prefer fusion 360. There is a free version still, even though it’s a bit confusing to find.

mostly though I use Shapr3d on my iPad Pro 12.9”. I absolutely love modeling on my iPad. Way most intuitive then fusion or Onshape and more powerful then Tinkercad. It’s a paid service though, but I have found it’s worth it for me. I’m just learning modeling and having my iPad on me all the time and being able to model when ever there’s a free second has helped me a ton in learning this hobby.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I wouldnt have thought it can be done on an ipad. I use an ancient laptop that likes to randomly lock up and need rebooted. I have a slightly newer one, but it's one of those kind that is a detachable tablet. it runs windows mobile, but can be switched to classic windows view as well. It wouldn't run tinkercad. It was so slow it was maddening. Maybe Fusion 360 will operate on it.

@angkorstrong @RainMan_PNW @Redman333 I found a nice .dae model of a 2014+ tundra. Y'all know what I can use to convert it to .stl or .obj? I cant open it with autocad or shapr3d

i dont use .dae files but a quick search there are converters online. Its a model/mesh? most of the time you lose alot of detail when converting it

    New project I'm working on:

    upload_2023-1-13_10-13-59.jpgupload_2023-1-13_10-14-26.jpgupload_2023-1-13_10-14-45.jpgupload_2023-1-13_10-15-9.jpg

I basically used pictures and rough approximations for the dimensions. I know it will fit on a truck, I don't think it would dimension exactly as the real thing. @RainMan_PNW, do you think you could bust out your caliper when you get a chance?

Would you mind measuring the width of the top, the overall height, and the diameter of the circle?

Has anyone made or seen a 3D printed Fuel Door? I have a 2018 Crewmax Limited. My Gas door either blew off or got stolen a few days ago and can not find anything but "covers" for an existing Door (Lid), but you still need the door to attach it to.

I don't believe i've seen one. Do you mean only the door? send a pic of the aftermath and maybe I can help more.

Here's the Fuel door part on Toyota:

Thoryota: The hinged part is still there, still opens/closes, just the "Lid" (I think it's technically called) is missing. I did order an OEM unpainted one for about $70 but in case it goes missing again would still like to have the ability to have one 3D printed. Also, there's an RBP one that looks pretty cool that apparently has been discontinued and I think the company is out of business or something because you can't get it anywhere. If a 3D printed one was available I would think it would be easy to add a simple custom something to the outside of it.

OK, that makes more sense now. The "lid" just came off, right? Does it just snap on to the "arm"?

I'll look at mine and see if I can mock something up when I have a sec.

That would be awesome, thank you! Yes, it does appear to just snap on. Two rows of three, one on top one on bottom. And all the "clips" or whatever you'd call them seem to be intact on my end. Don't try hard enough to break yours though, I can take better pictures, measurements, whatever when I get my new one.
