I saw this pop up in one of the Facebook groups and thought it was interesting.

To be honest...I had no clue that Toyota made an OEM dashcam as an accessory. It's pricey and I'm not sure of the fitment with the new Tundra. It would be interesting to see this in one of the new trucks. Supposedly, there's a factory harness in the overhead console of just about every 2021+ model that this can plug into.

    https://www.oemgenuineparts.com/oem-parts/toyota-interior-integrated-dash-camera-pt94908210

I already have a dashcam. I drive too much to not have one for self protection. When mine eventually craps out...I might check this one out. If the installation looks half as clean as the picture, it would be pretty nice.

I saw something interesting on the truck I just picked up yesterday.. there is a lot of extra black material to the right of the mirror. I was either thinking it was for a different mirror package based on size or something like this.. but there's a good 2.5" of extra material there.

Doesn't look like something I would be able to install by myself. I wonder how much the dealership would charge for installation. It says install time <1 hour.

@ryanwgregg Has the PDF install instructions. Those will reveal how easy/hard it is to install. I'm guessing the install would be pretty simple. I'm willing to bet it would just involve popping off the trim for the overhead console, connecting the harness (assuming there's a factory one sitting behind there), and then some black 3M double sided tape to mount it to the windshield.

There's a vacant wiring harness sitting behind the grill for, what I assume, would be the TRD Pro grille light bar. So, I'm guessing Toyota has several vacant wiring harnesses throughout the truck for various OEM accessories/options.

I'm looking forward to your review. Do you know whether you can access the video from the camera via smartphone or do you have to remove the SD card from the camera and download it on a computer or other device?

I may get flamed for asking this, but does anyone know where to get a little non-slip mat for the two trays in the centre armrest? Anything I put in there slips around like its on ice. I would prefer getting something custom fit rather than buying material cutting it to fit.

I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for but I cut some black rubber drawer liner and used some double sided tape, works awesome. I’ll take a picture a little later. It was super cheap and disposable if I didn’t like it.

I looked into a few covers for my 2022 and I did not come across any that did not fit, however I did find that several manufacturers had not released their existing line products for the 2022 yet. I needed a cover because it's been snowing since December in Baldwin, MI and went with Lomax because it was available and has good reviews. Fits great, was easy to install, looks great, and it's way more watertight than the Bak Revolver XS4 I had on my Tacoma. In fact I'd go so far to say that if you live in a location that gets a fair amount of snow and ice during the winter, the revolver is not for you. The seals would regularly freeze down to the aluminum rails putting you in the position of risking cracking the seals or pulling them off.

When I bought my 2022 Tundra I paid extra for, and had the dealer install, a pair of predator steps for my Tundra. I'm not 100% certain, however I believe the original ones that were on my truck that the dealer removed to install the predator steps were these rock rails. They threw them into the bed of the truck and gave them to me when they delivered the vehicle. I have them in storage in the Chicagoland area if you are interested.

Nice! I see Im not the only one who is annoyed by it. I'll probably do something like that, too and I'm sure it wont be long before the aftermarket has little custom pads that you can buy for that OEM look.

@Hextorm thanks for this, been trying to figure out where. I ordered a couple of items, I hope the “red” matches the TRD red on the Toyota logo. If not, I may sell and reorder. Will report back to everyone on what “red” matches, and may have some to sell :)

waiting waiting waiting to take delivery
So I spoke with Bak industries today regarding bed cover for crewmax long bed website states “coming soon or unavailable” they were willing to do a special order with a 8-10 week delivery which would have been fine, but in the system at this time the part number only fits without bed rails, no option to relocate the rails like in past.
Rep says it could be available soon but not in system at this time. So I wait.

For sure, they are long and heavy. No worries, thought maybe if you weren't too far from Chicago it could work out.

So I reached out to them one more time in hopes to get some actual clarification… the lady I spoke with was an absolute rockstar! She said that they have samples but are waiting on donor trucks to verify fitment before making them available to ship. So to anyone in the SoCal area… drop your rigs off to GoRhino!!!!

The rear bumper I may do that to. The hulk hogan mustache I was thinking of wrapping in gloss black to match the other parts. Like the door handles and mirrors.

I randomly crawled under the bumper yesterday and those chrome plastic pieces look like they pop off pretty easily. I haven't decided what to do yet quite yet. They're 100% plastic.

To be honest, the longer I have my truck...the longer the 2 chrome areas (mustache & bumper trim) grow on me. Maybe I'll do something about it after more front & rear bumper options hit the after market. If I've got to disassemble the front clip to install a winch bumper, I might do a wrap or color matched parts then.
