I've seen the threads, IMO they were put there for a reason, I'd rather keep them functional. There are active dampers behind the grill that shut at high speeds, so I assume these openings are to allow the right amount of air to still hit the radiator when that happens.

Added a few "accessories" to the 2023 1794 edition. Just a lift, tires and roofnest awning and I think I'm done. Just turned 2k miles.

I'm trying to decide between 35 inch and 37 inch tires. Basically going to have the exact setup as you however I'm using a ready lift kit. Did you re gear with the 37's or are you running it stock?

Valid question. Regearing will void it I'm assuming? Will the transmission work well enough without regearing, other than loss of power?

Anyone know if the removable JBL front speaker advertised with 2024 will be available for 3rd Gen Tundra? Did a search and didn’t find anything. This pix is from 2024 Toyota Tacoma advertising 8A893956-879D-4533-9CDB-26B20FCAC69D.png

Seams like good use of an otherwise unused cubby hole that’s out of site on top of dash, at least on my truck. Also, seems like pretty awesome solution to having Bluetooth speaker for camping.

Sold my last 3rd gen about a year ago and finally decided to buy another. Excited to get the TRD lift installed and these Nomad Convoy’s next week. GFC topper install isn’t until December (bummer).

Anyone have any tips, pointers, likes, or dislikes with TRD lift or Nomad wheels?

    Man, those steelies look good!

Can’t go wrong with a TRD lift. I’m more of a believer of paying a little more for Kings/fox but that fits my use of the truck.

Totally get that man. Honestly, the warranty aspect and some of the small stuff like extended brake lines talked me into it. I don’t go too heavy on it - just need it for hunting and camping here in Montana with some occasional rough trails. Can’t wait to pick it up early next week.

Im with you. I built my own kit to include extended lines and bump stops. The TRD is a one stop shop

I added a sapphire screen protector. It's much clearer than the factory provided film.

I also added the Go Rhino E1 Electric Running Boards Installed on my 2023 Toyota 1794 4x4.

They tuck up against the body when the door closes and they provide lightning at night.20230725_222033.jpg

Did you have to peel off any film before applying new protector ?

There is a film from the factory. I peeled mine off before applying new screen protector.

Very nice, I need to mount my FTM-200DR and this looks perfect. Can you share what ball adapter you used to connect into the back of the Kenwood Mobile? How hard was it to route the remote head RJ45 cable?

I used the Kenwood controller head kit, it came with a bracket for the control head, I drilled a hole and then installed a standard b size ramball. As far as the control head cable nah dude it was EASY peasy. All I did was remove the driver side floor, the plastic pop out moldings , pull the carpet back a bit, but that’s what I did because I mounted my radio body under the driver side seat. I removed the dash cubby . And ran a slim hard line down like a fishe until it touched the bottom . Taped it and ran the cable up, drilled a hole into the cubby and presto. It was super easy just be very easy with the plastic tabs when snapping them back in, they bend easy. 73! KF7EGL
