I think, not just Dobinsons but Icon, Kings, aftermarket Fox are superior than the stock TRDPro setup for a few reasons.
With aftermarket you can choose how much lift you want, spring rate, shock valving, coil color, etc. The TRD pro option is designed to satisfy the average guy and to give the TRDpro some bling to justify the insane mark up compared to other trims.
I suggested Dobinsons as an option because they are a high performance budget option that is $400 cheaper than the $2200 USED TRDpro set and you get to pick exactly what you want down to the color of the coils (if you care about that stuff) another good option for a little bit more money is the Icon link you posted and if money is not an issue id go with this https://www.chaosfab.com/product/2022-Current-Toyota-Tundra-UCA-Coilover-King-Shocks-Complete-Kit

    This is just my opinion.

I had a Dobinson's IMS lift installed this week. I went with 3 inches in the front and 2 in the back with medium load springs. I also went with the TRD upper control arms, TRD extended axles and the Dobinson’s adjustable rear panhard bar. So far I love everything about it. A couple weeks ago I had Maxxis 35x12.5r17 all terrains installed on some method 305s with 0 offset. The tires were rubbing pretty good a couple of places but I had the lift already on the way so I wasn't too worried about it.

From those angles it makes the 35's look small!

So for the Wescott lift, how stiff does it make the ride?

How much better are the Icon coilovers than the 2.5 EXP Shocks? I plan to do some mild offroading and want to be comfortable. Looking at Icon Stage 3 or 4 or wondering if i should save some money and go Stage 1 or 2

If you can float the coin, I’d suggest for it. And it’ll be much easier to install, rather than swapping the OEM coil spring over. And I’m sure they’ll be a Labor Day sale coming up

On a SR5 w/ TRD OR suspension, you can tell the difference vs stock. It's stiffer and you can feel it even going over speed bumps. It's much more noticeable off-road. I got rid of mine and swapped them w/ Dobinsons MRA

This thread is great. I am ordering a 2024 Tundra in the next couple of weeks and have been unsure what to do in terms of suspension options, this thread has helped me understand a little more about what is available but I am still not sure what direction I should be looking in. I plan to order a 1794. I really want the advanced package because of the headsup display but I kind of hate the idea of getting the airbags just to get rid of them. I am considering just getting the 1794 with Power Running Boards/Step and then aftermarket suspension. I'd prefer the truck to have a 1.5-2" lift/level but over everything comfort and performance while doing normal everyday road driving is my priority, so I know a spacer is out. It will see a dirt road a few times a year, I am not an off roader. I don't mind spending $2K-$4K to achieve this.

Am I right to expect that for under $4K I can get a better everyday driver than with stock airbags or the TRD Add On Package?

I quite like the load leveling airbags for hauling and towing.

Reaching out to see if anyone has used the icon stage 1 ? I see it says it only goes up to 2.5” but if I had some aftermarket upper control arms . Do the struts have a spot to put the coil over to 3” of lift ? Also curious about how they ride ?
I don’t off road much but do go here and there so I really don’t need I’m crazy

I talked to Shock Surplus on the Bilsteins, he said "not anytime soon". I have also called Fox twice and they said "it'll be a while".

Thanks for all the helpful information. I have a buddy that put an Icon lift lift on his TRD Pro and swapped out a lot of the stock components, but kept the stock rear springs.

He's offered me the Pro Setup pictured at a great price, but if it's not going to do much for me, I'll help him sell it here (he's not on here, and isn't much of a computer guy). Since I've got the limited with the stock black axles, he's going to let me have the Red TRD Axles to use with whatever lift I get.

So I’m running the Westcott lift with ICON Billet UCA’s and on 35’s. I’ve recently noticed a clunking noise randomly while turning. Sometimes at a slow speed and other times at full lock turning. I happened to get under the truck and noticed some black grease as seen in the picture.looks like this on both sides. Anybody got ideas what might be going on before I take it up to the shop.

@Proven21 That’s odd… looks like the grease was placed there. Maybe someone applied it after the install of your kit? You can see a couple spots that it’s made contact where it has rubbed off.

I had this sort of noise after installing a new skid plate and drop down spacers for the sway bar. The two were making contact with each other, so I added rubber spacers to the skid plate and I no longer have the issue.

The people on this forum are awesome, I’m sure someone will help you find the issue and remedy. Good luck.

Some people put grease on the steering stops. Helps with any grinding noise when turn to full lock and if the suspension cycles at the same time.

No harm in cleaning it off as you can always reapply it.

Maybe the installer noticed clunk too and added the grease thinking that would help resolve the sound?

I posted this in the wheels/tires thread, but thought I would here too about the lift. After much research, I went with Dobinsons 2/1 IMS kit, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The photos don't give it any justice. The crazy thing is that it now rides BETTER than stock, even with new 10-ply E load range Toyo AT3's in 285-65-20. I went with the 0-110 springs, and they seem like the right choice for my needs. That said, I haven't towed my boat with the new suspension yet. I wanted to keep some rear rake, which is one of the reasons I went with 2" in the front. I also did not want to replace the UCAs, axles, etc, by going 3" up front. The Dobinsons kit with new AT tires totally transformed the truck, and I absolutely love it! I bought my kit from Main Line Overland. Not only were they less expensive, but there was also a 10% off coupon that dropped the IMS Tundra kit down to $1,602 (plus shipping). Absolutely worth the extra cost over a spacer or collar kit, IMO.

Come back and update us on how it does towing. I have a 1" spacer in the rear. Would really like to do something a little nicer, but haven't heard a lot of reviews on how the Dob's IMS does when towing. Thanks!

    PS - truck looks fantastic!

The review I was looking for, after having a 3/1 collar lift put on my truck from factory it’s brutal on the bumps sowas wondering if this kit made it ride so much better / like factory pr even better ?

Planning to get some, after installing it...you had to bleed the brake lines as any other car...starting from the furthest ?

But it also states they'll fit stock height, if you're just looking to replace the factory ones, so I'd imagine they'd adjust down to accommodate a 1" lift as well.

Why would Toyota supply tie rod extensions, diff clamp, and new axles for the TRD lift, when other lifts like BDS, King, Fox, don't supply them in theirs. Do you run the risk of damaging the suspension system if you only do coilovers and shocks with longer axles when lifting 3 inches or more? Reference: TRD OR 4x4 on stock everything.
