FWIW I've been using the 57145XP since the first oil change at 1k. Great filter and one of the the few I trust to meet and exceed Toyota's OE filter quality.

For comparison sake. They are no doubt different in size - see the gasket ID and OD in addition to canister OD.

i,have the motovx wrench for our rav. It’s also 64mm so I can use it for the tundra, BUT the 2024 uses a different filter. Might not be 64mm

I run Toyota filters in my Toyota.

In my Honda the Honda filter is made by Fram.

"Fram Garbage" used to be true. However they do make some good filters. Many recommend the Fram Ultra. The problem is all filters are changing so regularly. Bob is the Oil Guy still has great info.

Mobile 1 has declined in quality as well.

One can read for days, and obsess on the topic. My advice is use a filter and change it every 5,000.

If you change it every 5,000 you are a lot more right than someone doing it every 10,000

But having too much resistance, truck will just be bypassing the oil past the filter and send it back into the engine! That would actually be even more true for gang running thicker oils. When the pressure is high, like during heavy acceleration or cold start, you won't be getting all that oil filtered if it's too hard to pass through the filter.

There needs to be a balance in filter density.

I used the tool in the pic with my Gen 3 Taco - canister with drop in filter - was suprised that it fits the filter of the Tundra Gen 3 perfectly.

A few years passed, are we confirmed that the 90915-10010 is the OE recommended filter for the Tundra?

Thanks. Below are some part numbers for a bunch of oil filters that seem to fit the Tundra. There is some misinformation and inaccurate part numbers listed on different sites, so I hope this is helpful to the next person.

    Toyota: 90915-10010
    Purolator Boss: PBL14477
    Mobil 1: M1-103A
    Amsoil: EA15K09
    WIX: 57145(XP)

$6.50 ea at your dealer IF you order it and pay online for Will Call at their parts counter. (($12.50 if you just walk in))

The closest dealer near me using Toyota.com is $9.04. It is a pita to get to and wants $13 for shipping.

Does anyone know if you go over 20K will you still be able to get your Toyota Care 20k oil service change? My search results below.

Based on this reddit post, there is a 1000 mile, 1 month grace period, but this is saying 25k service and I was told it was 20k.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Toyota/comments/18gdslh/im_tired_of_explaining_toyotacare/

Second site commenting the 1000 mile, 1 month.
    https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/20k-mile-toyota-care-question.1721746/

I have not bought from here. This site has them for $6.47 and around $6 for shipping. https://toyotaparts.lakelandtoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-oil-filter-9091510010 I tried the McGeorge Toyota recommended in the parts finder sticky but didn't see oil filters.

Just looked on the Toyota parts website and they have updated the oil filter number to 90915-YZZN3, which replaces 90915-10010.

Picked up an oil filter at the dealer yesterday and by my vin#, it was part #90915YZZN3.

Counter guy told me it’s changed pn’s due to manufacturer changes.

I believe that The Car Care Nut did a video about Toyota oil filters. If memory serves, the YZ filters are good, but are Toyota's "value line" of filters.

In my experience, factory installed filters are hard to come by for most Toyotas - the current gen Tundra being an exception...until now. I wonder why it's taken this long.

The YZ filters are still good in my experience, but typically made somewhere less expensive (Thailand, for example, instead of the Japan-made factory filter).

Wait, are you saying the D3 also fits and is recommended?? Looks to me like it is only the N3.

I ordered 10 of these (90915-YZZN3) from the local dealer this morning. The Web site said they may not work. I'll be at the dealer this afternoon to see what they have to say.

    The website is not correct.

90915-YZZN3 is the MVP part number for the V35A.

FWIW, my new recall engine came with this filter, the 10010 flavor. I replaced it with a Mobil 1 1-103A which I didn’t realize was smaller until I pulled the old one out lol.
